Phi Phi Island
Thanks to Leonardo Di Caprio’s movie “The Beach,” the world came to know of the stunning Phi Phi Islands and have been hooked ever since.
A 90-minute ferry ride from Krabi or Phuket will take you to the postcard-perfect islands of Phi Phi between the Straits of Malacca and the island of Phuket.
Consisting of six islands, Phi Phi has so many things to offer its visitors. Phi Phi Don, its largest island is mostly where the crowd goes because of the many resorts in the area.
The smaller and uninhabited Phi Phi Leh is where you’ll find world-famous Maya Bay, the exact location where “The Beach” was filmed. The rest of the islands are relatively just large limestone rocks popping out of the sea and can be reached by long-tail boats or speedboats available on the bigger islands.
What makes Phi Phi islands stand out is the perfect contrast of turquoise waters and greenery, soft beaches and hard limestone cliffs, all of which offer the perfect backdrop for that postcard-worthy picture.
Of course, the beaches at Phi Phi islands are some of the best in the world, so they’re definitely a must-visit if you’re in Phuket or Krabi.
