Drive with an airconditioned, comfortable coach from Munich and visit the famous and fabulous castles built by the fairytale King Ludwig II.
These unique buildings in the midst of the Bavarian alpine landscape will
definitely fascinate you.
The first stop of our tour will take you to Schloss Linderhof, the smallest castle of the Bavarian king. It’s up to you to decide whether you choose to have a guided tour through the castle in english live, have a walk around the beautifully landscaped grounds or simply enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and get excited by the marvellous scenery.

We will then continue our tour to Hohenschwangau. Our stay there will offer you ample time to both try out the famous Bavarian cuisine in a restaurant and visit the castle of Neuschwanstein as well.

You can decide whether you want to see one or both castles from the inside with a guided tour and accordingly buy the tickets from our tour guide in cash.

When I arrived on the bus in the morning, I was made aware that I would need to pay the tour company €33 cash for the tickets to enter Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace. I did not have cash on me, so I had to use the ATM which charged a substantial fee on top of the fee already charged by my bank. I doubled checked my booking, and it’s written under the ‘Whats Included’ section that this is how it works. So, what’s the problem with this? In response to other commenters and several on my bus who expressed their dissatisfaction, the tour company says that since it’s written in the booking, they are not liable. However what does common sense tell you? For example, when you buy a new pair a tennis shoes, and get home and realize that the laces were not included, but the fine print on your receipt says ‘laces not included’, you’re obviously upset since laces are an implied component of the shoe, and when you purchased the shoes you made the basic assumption that laces are included. Likewise, if you drive off with a new car and realize when you get home there are no seatbelts, you would rightfully be upset, whether or not it was stated somewhere in fine print that the seatbelts were not included, since seatbelts are an implied part of a car. In the same way, when a customer purchases this ‘Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace Day Tour from Munich’, it’s a baseline assumption that the arguably most important aspect of the tour, ie the entrance tickets to the locations would be included. It’s bad business practice to include over half of the day’s cost in a sub addendum under a drop down window on the bookings page. While not fraudulent since the fine print exists, it’s deceptive in nature and I believe there in order to make the tour seem cheaper relative to competitors on the booking site. What further frustrated me was that customers have no option of whether or not to purchase these tickets. I specifically requested whether I could decline their tickets and book my own from the ticket office when I got there. If I did this I would’ve saved money and avoided the ATM charges. However my request was denied citing that they had already reserved the tickets in advance. If this is the case, why bother with the cash the day of at all, and just build the ticket price into the initial posted price? So, how do I recommend you solve this? Firstly, I hope future prospective customers read this to get a true cost of their tour. I believe the tour company has the duty for fairness and transparency to clearly post the additional ticket cost on the front page in capital letters (not under a drop down window) or even better to just add it into the posted price. If the tickets must be purchased the day of for logistical reasons (though as mentioned before my theory is they do this to make their tour seem cheaper on the booking cite), it must be clearly and explicitly communicated to the customer that this charge exists (before they agree to book) and remind the customer via email to bring cash with them, as many people do not carry cash with them. As for the tour itself, pretty standard stuff and what you’d expect. I’d forewarn potential customers that the town beneath the castle where you eat lunch is very expensive, so I recommend you pack a lunch. If I were do it again, and know that what I end up paying for the day is nearly twice what I initially thought, I would scrap the tour and just look into other options in securing transport to the castle and palace, and buy my own ticket online—all the information in the actual tour can just be read off Wikipedia for free.

The weather was unusually wintery with snow which made it lovely to see. The castles were definitely worth a visit although I thought the tours were a little rushed. We didn’t seem to see a lot at Neuschwanstein for the size of it. Guide was very informative (Monika).

Linderhof Palace was beautiful, inside and out. Loved the scenery on the journey (snow covered on the day we went). Driving through Oberammergau was a pleasant bonus. The guide was lovely and her information was excellent

Was my first time visiting Munich back in March and was told by many that traveling to see Neuschwanstein Castle was a must! It was about a five minute walk from our hotel to find the tour guides and bus, and a relaxing ride to our first stop (Linderhof Palace) filled with great information and tips given to us by our guide! Booking this tour made our visit to both the palace and castle stress free and we would do it again in a heartbeat!
