Pilanesberg and Sun City Tour

Omggggg. This was definitely a wining experience. My tour guide was awesome, the experience was awesome. Stephenson adventures hands down went all out to make sure i created those memories while my safety was top priority. Thanks to MO and Banele were both awesome and very professional.

Visting Pilanesberg we did not see too many animals. We were either too early or too late. Fortunately we visited earlier the Lion and Rhino park so we were not that disappointed. However, do not expect that the animals will wait for you like in a Zoo. We brought even a joke from this trip: "Do you see the brown rock far away over there? Yes? Well, that’s the lion taking a nap under the tree. Trust my word on that." While searching for animals, we fell behind schedule and didn’t have enough time for Sun City. But credit goes to our tour guide, Banele from Stephenson Adventures. He took responsibility for the hour-long delay in Pilanesberg and allowed us an extra hour in Sun City. The place and the Valley of Waves are really great and 2 hours there would never be enough. We got another one and really used this additonal hour for fun. I know that Banele sacrificed his own time and was really late home that day. But this is what Stephenson Adventures do - they go an extra mile for their customers and I really appreciated that.

This trip was a very good value for the money. We had a private diver and escort (Banele was absolutely amazing! You should request him if at all possible!) who picked us up from our hotel. It was about a two hour and 15 minute drive out to the Pilanesberg national park. We saw many animals (but no lions) and had an elephant follow our safari jeep for part of the way towards the end of the safari. We then went to Sun City which was a little generic but we had a good time a the water park and casino. A very good day overall and you definitely get your money's worth!

Probably mother and baby rhino photos. Sadly animal viewings were limited- no lions or leopards, distant elephants and two giraffes. - no fault of the staff, just bad luck. My friend wanted to see Sun City, it’s probably good for young families, but it’s all artificial and tacky. The staff there were noticeably surly and miserable. Had forgotten I had a bar of chocolate in my bag, that got confiscated. Ordered a chicken and chips, with ice cream for dessert, the chicken was red (not even pink) in the centre. I assumed they would hold the ice cream and bring later - thought that would be common sense. I was wrong. On the positive side, Mo the driver from Stephenson Adventures was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly, he put himself out to be helpful, but obviously he has no control over what happens inside. The Pilanesburg safari staff were fine and just as disappointed that the animals weren’t so much in evidence.
