Your Egyptologist Guide will pick you up from your hotel/nile cruise to accompany you for your tour to Hathor Temple in Dendera. It was one of the principal cult centers of the goddess Hathor" Goddess of Maternity ,Joy ,Music ,and love", The Greeks identified goddess Hathor as Aphrodite. The temple is one of the latest discovered, it features Egyptian gods and Roman emperors alongside in its decorations as the temple was established during the Romanian times, and dedicated to the wife of god Horus. Also you can view the beautiful ceiling which depicts the Dendera Zodiac including the signs of Libra the Balance and Taurus the Bull. After you have enjoyed this interesting visit you will be transferred back to your Hotel/Nile cruise in Luxor.

An excellent trip with Moshen our very knowledgeable guide and Ahmed, a good driver. The car was comfortable and water and a snack was provided too. Dendera temple is astonishing with so much to see and very different to many of the other temples you can visit. The images in bas relief on the ceilings in the first columned area are stunning and we could have spent hours looking at them all. We are keen photographers and our guide was very patient and gave us plenty of time. He explained so much about the different images and scenes all over the different parts of the temple. The colours , particularly in the reliefs on the ceilings are wonderful The temple is one of the few which is largely intact with pillars snd ceilings. Quite awesome. It was also interesting to go up to the second floor

Our guide, Aladdin, was outside the front door of our hotel waiting for us (three adults). Took about an hour drive to get to Dendera, the car journey itself was an experience compared to the usual roads/driving typically in US so time didn’t seem to take too long. Aladdin gave descriptions and brought us around various parts of the temple complex with various explanations/descriptions of highlights before allowing us some free time at the end to explore the area ourselves at our own pace. The temple itself from the front exterior with the columns to me didn’t quite have the view impact as some of the other temples with the huge pylons. But Dendera is fairly complete throughout and with an additional level/story and with a lot of detail and color throughout, especially on all the ceilings. Spent most of the time here it seemed gazing upwards to take it all in. Very few people were here considering how impressive a site it was. We were leaving Luxor the next day and Aladdin also arranged us a ride to the airport, where again, he was there right right on time for our pickup to the airport.

Our favorite experience in all of Egypt. Our flight was late coming into Luxor from Cairo, and the guide Mr. Hamdy had no problem waiting a half hour after our scheduled start time. It is about an hour drive from the main tourist accommodation area but well worth it -- the temple is extremely well preserved like something out of a movie. Hamdy was able to read the hieroglyphics like it was a book and tell us all the stories that were engraved on the walls. A must-do in Luxor.
