Lockie was a great guide. Took us to a few local breweries/pubs that are not so touristy. Great beer. Great snacks. Made for a great night.

Lockie was an excellent tour guide, and the perfect personality for a day drinking tour around Munich’s old town. From the time we met him, our group could tell we were going to get along and have fun. He took us to 3 places to enjoy different beers, schnapps and food pairings. He was a fountain of knowledge about the venues he took us to, the history of the beers and food we sampled, and could dabble in pop culture with the best. While walking between venues, he also pointed out and spoke to different Munich sights we passed by, which I think qualifies this tour as an educational experience. : ) One quick story speaking to Lockie’s level of service: we lucked out with a beautiful, warm April Saturday and Bayern Munich happened to have a home match, which had the city jammed and brimming with energy… From the jump, he did an awesome job navigating the busy streets, and you could tell he was tight with the staff at the restaurants / bars, who served us promptly and were friendly. For the last brewery, he mentioned earlier in the day they didn’t take reservations and would be really busy because of how popular it is with locals - but assured us he had “spies” that’d make sure we could snag a table. When we arrived, his MOM and SISTER, who were in town visiting from New Zealand, were graciously holding seats at the table for us until we arrived! I’ll reiterate what some other reviewers have said: no need to pre-drink before this tour - rest assured you’ll be taken care of just fine. But if you want an experience that’ll feel like a local friend showing you around town to some good spots, stop reading and Add To Cart.

(Late review sorry) Very enjoyable and informative tour we had a lovely afternoon/eveing. Extreamly helpful and friendly guide (sorry I can't remember your name, but we had the Kiwi.) and tour staff, we were the only people booked on to our original booking so they contacted us to see if we'd prefer to swap to another tour a few days later with another couple which we very much appreciated. It was a highlight of the trip would do again. Thanks!

Lockie is a great guide. The tour was very informative with lots of history while remaining light and entertaining. He paid attention to our preferences and worked hard to ensure we got a great variety of food and drink. I would definitely go again.

Heed the warning not to pre-drink before this tour. There will be lots of beer and schnapps! We visited three of the lesser well-known bars with our guide Lockie, had some great beers/schnapps and food, and even learned a little bit along the way (that which we could remember... again, don't pre-drink).
