Admire the Roman Forum's Sacred Way, the triumphal road where the Centurions of Caesar marched after their return from countless battles and conquests.

After you walk through Palatine Hill, explore the site of an older settlement from the 9th century BC.

Learn about the legend of Romulus and Remus, the abandoned brothers raised by a wolf who fought each other for power and control.

One of the most important parts of the square is the enormous monument called “Vittoriano”, dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy.The monument is also known as “Altare della Patria” because it contains the altar of the unknown soldier.

Long the way you will see the ruins of the Caracalla Bath. Situated near the Appian Way, the Baths of Caracalla are one of the largest and most impressive thermae built in antiquity in Rome.
The splendour of the baths Going to the baths was a favourite pastime of the Romans, who visited them regularly both to maintain their hygiene and to improve their social relations. In the vast precinct that held the baths, the citizens could not only use the public baths but also dedicate their time to doing exercise, visiting the library, walking through the gardens or worshipping the god Mithras and other pagan divinities by visiting the temple. The baths make up an architectural wonder when you keep in mind the date of their construction since they included effective water supply systems, as well as heating and drainage systems. Covered with marble and decorated with valued works of art, the Baths of Caracalla were the most sumptuous baths to be built in ancient times.

Circus Maximus is the largest building for public entertainment in antiquity and one of the largest of all time (600 metres long by 140 metres wide).
The races held in the Circus were the most popular competitive activities for the Roman people, as well as the gladiatorial games. The chariot drivers soon became idolized by the Roman people, and since the chariots belonged to different racing teams distinguished by different colours (green, blue, red, white), the spectators too were divided upon the circus steps according to the colour of their beloved riders. Damaged several times by fire, the Circus Maximus was almost completely rebuilt under the Principate of Trajan, and most of the structures visible today were built during its reign. Numerous works were carried out by later emperors, including the spectacular erection of the gigantic obelisk, now in the Lateran Hill, brought to Rome by Constant II in 357 AD.

Day 2: Sightseeing tour of the historical center, Vatican Museun and Sistine Chapel

Admire the beauty of the enlightened Spanish Square, one of the most famous squares in Rome. Located in the heart of the roman historical city centre, the square hosts fascinating and incredible masterpieces.
In the middle of the square rises the famous Barcaccia Fountain, dating to the beginning of the baroque period, sculpted by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and his father. At the same time, the square is crowned by the impressive Spanish Steps, an imposing 135-step staircase decorated with many garden-terraces, splendidly adorned with flowers in spring and summer. The sumptuous, aristocratic staircase, was designed so that the scenic effects increase more and more while approaching to it, as typical feature of the great baroque architecture.

Belonging to the fountain is the legend whereby throwing a coin in the fountain you will ensure your return in Rome.
