My son (16) and I had a great time! We loved touring the market, meeting the other fellow travelers, and working together to bring our meal, or should I say feast, together.
What a great experience! Had the opportunity to enjoy this cooking class with my 13 and 10 year old daughters while visiting Venice over spring break. This was certainly something they will remember for a lifetime. The chef and host were so nice and informative about the intricacies of the Italian food they prepared. After visiting the Realto market, we learned how to make focaccia, caprese salad, polpette, hand made pasta with crispy eggplant, and of course tiramisu! All of it delicious and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Venice.
Lorenzo was great! Toured the fish market. Cooked from scratch in his unique home. Perfect experience.
Definitely a unique and wonderful experience. Lorenzo hosts the cooking and dining experience in his private residence. The demonstrations and participation were informative and fun. The meal was exceptional. Highly recommend this experience. Two items to note: Meeting place is in a square, not in a storefront; would have been helpful to have name of square and a link to google maps location. It is about a 30 minute walk from meeting place/market area to Lorenzo's residence, which also means about 30+ minutes back to San Marcos square areas. Do also note that if you need to contact Lorenzo, it is best to use WhatsApp.
The chef Lorenzo was great and the menu and food was very good. We loved visiting the fresh fish market too. The only thing I would say is that it went a couple hours longer than expected, but for us it wasn't really a problem.
