The Oriental Pearl Tower
A radio and television tower in Shanghai, it’s also known as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is categorized as a distinct landmark in the area because of its location—next to the Huangpu River in the Pudong New Area and opposite The Bund.
Suffice it to say that when you do reach the foot of the tower, you will be treated to a panoramic view of the river and beyond. It was constructed in 1991 and was completed three years later. At a height of 468m, it was China's tallest structure from 1994 to 2007.
The Oriental Pearl Tower has fifteen observation levels, with the Space Module at the highest level. The upper observation platform has an outer area with a glass floor. There's also the Sightseeing Floor and Space City. You can basically get a bird's eye view of the city at different heights.
At the 267m level, there is a revolving restaurant. The Oriental Pearl Rotating Restaurant is ranked as the second-highest in Asia. The tower also has the Space Hotel, offering guests 20 rooms to book.
