We had a GREAT experience! Issmail was an awesome tour guide. Camel ride was super cool and enjoyed seeing the Atlas Mountains. Only things I’d note for people considering is that there’s a stop at a store that sells argan oil and the products are quite expensive compared to prices elsewhere, and there’s also a hike that may be challenging for older people, children, people with injuries, etc. It’s not super strenuous but requires some balance at some points.

My husband and two children (aged 12 & 13) had the most wonderful trip. Our driver Bourhim picked us up promptly from our AirB&B and fortunately for us, the other party were a no show, so it ended up being a private tour, which was great. Our first stop was at a pottery shop which also had a toilet and our second stop was at a Argan oil shop where you can also see them making it. My daughters and I even had a go! It was such fun. We then started our journey up the mountain which had beautiful views but unfortunately my daughter got quite travel sick. Obviously going up a mountain is very twisty! We came to a little village where we met our guide Babala. (A little piece of advice here, make sure when you get out of the vehicle you take your hats, water and have very good walking shoes on, as we didn’t realise that this was the start to the hike and we had left it all in the vehicle, so we had to get Bourhim to come back!). Babala spoke excellent English and was so informative all the way, he was such a lovely young man, so attentive and friendly. Our 13 year old isn’t the most energetic but she was fine and the whole hike is only approx 45mins each way. The waterfall is well worth it and you get to see some lovely views and scenery along the way. On our at back on the hike, we called at a local restaurant. Our girls needed to sit in the shade, so Babala went above and beyond to make this happen and to make sure we were all comfortable. Here we ate the most delicious food. You get to choose only chicken or vegetarian option and it’s one choice for both. Three courses of the best value and most delicious meal. You won’t be disappointed! After lunch it was just a short walk back to meet Bourhim and we then started our journey to the desert. Again, my daughter got quite travel sick but Bourhim was very good at stopping when needed to give her a break. We arrived at the desert but I must add, it’s not quite a desert, more baron land, however it did not disappoint and we had the most wonderful experience riding the camels! Over all this was an amazing trip and such great value for money. It was a long day but well worth it. If you are prone to travel sickness then maybe it’s not for you as the roads are so twisty going up and down the mountain. Our girls did love it though, especially the camel ride! Bourhim was great and if you get to choose a guide for the hike, then I highly recommend Babala as he was wonderful!
