Transfer from Aswan to Luxor

I highly recommend booking this if you don't have enough days to join the river cruise. We were able to see 2 temples on the way to luxor. We have no complaints at all. Our driver was very kind and anticipated our needs. Thank you so much for getting us to Luxor safely!

I did this trip with my wife and 7 year old daughter. We had Samir who was an excellent tour guide, who explained everything and his driver was equally professional and polite. Samir however did want to take us to shops which we declined on all opportunities. I would recommend him as your guide.

We could set our departure time, so we chose 9 am, and the driver was waiting for us right on time at our hotel, the Sonesta Nouba. Our car had good AC and tinted windows, and was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We stopped at Kom Ombo and Edfu temples, and leisurely spent about 1 - 1.5 hours at each place. Our driver was nice, and bought us water. I enjoyed the drive, and thought it was interesting seeing the little towns, sugar cane factory, people riding donkeys, and the truck full of camels. There were a lot of speed bumps, so driving was slow. We arrived at the Hilton Luxor around 4:30 pm.

What an interesting trip! We needed a way to get from Aswan to Luxor and didn’t have time to take a cruise, so this was perfect. To start, our driver was an absolute gem - professional in every sense of the word. He was with us all day, and so thoughtful even though unable to speak English (which was not at all a problem given the coordinator who was also very helpful). Again, 10/10 for our driver - cannot say enough good about that man. Kom Ombo & Edfu are both must-do’s if you’re in Upper Egypt. If you’ve already been to Luxor, you may find them a bit underwhelming vs the grandeur of Karnak, but a great way to build up to Luxor if starting from Aswan. We added Egyptologists for both sites. Kom Ombo guide was great, answered all our questions and seemed so appreciative of our visit. Edfu guide was generally great, but set us up for the hard sell with one of the shops out front having immediately introduced us to a shop owner and using a prop from that shop to guide us around the temple. When trying to leave, it was impossible to avoid getting the hard sales pitch and feeling overwhelmed & ripped off. The store actually had a lot of nice stuff, I just never actually got to look around because the guys were so aggressively pushing products I didn’t want at prices WAY above what things sell for in Egypt. Just a word to the wise to keep your wits about you at Edfu. All in all, great tour, highly recommended… just be very clear about no shopping if you want to be left alone.
