Day 1: Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Rotorua City Highlights Experience & Overnight Stay in Rotorua

Be amazed by thousands of magical glowworms above as you glide silently by boat in the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Your guided Waitomo Caves tour will be an unforgettable sightseeing experience as you walk through majestic caverns, explore limestone shafts, marvel at the stalactites and stalagmites and enjoy a boat ride through a grotto lit by thousands of tiny native glowworms.

Government Gardens is a beautiful public park situated along the edge of Lake Rotorua and just minutes from the city centre. This is one of Rotorua’s historic landmarks and most popular tourism destinations. You'll want to have your camera on hand for this spot! Explore historic gardens that surround a Tudor-style spa bath house and an ornate Mediterranean-style public swimming pool. Peer through the steam into ancient bubbling geothermal pools.

Day 2: Te Puia Geothermal Valley, Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland Experience and return to Auckland
Stop At: Te Puia, Hemo Road, Rotorua New Zealand
Explore Te Puia’s unique Whakarewarewa geothermal valley home to the world famous Pohutu Geyser, which erupts up to twenty times a day, and up to thirty metres high into the air. Explore the boiling mud pools and the boiling waters which are still used to cook in. The tradition of guiding in the Whakarewarewa geothermal valley extends for generations. Te Puia is a must-do activity in Rotorua, and a day tour of Te Puia is the best way to experience this top visitor attraction in New Zealand.

Come and see the history and beauty of the Lady Knox Geyser at 10.15am every day. Presented by our fantastic staff in a natural amphitheatre. Visit the Mud Pool to complete your experience at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. The largest mud pool in New Zealand, it was originally the site of a large mud volcano which was destroyed through erosion in the 1920’s.
