Overview

A two day excursion, staying overnight at the Hintok River Camp, which incorporates time spent at The Bridge over the River Kwai, visiting the Prisoner of War Cementary of Kanchanaburi, a train ride along part of the 'Death Railway', early morning alms giving to monks and more. (

01 Jan-30 Jun 2018 Hellfire Pass Interpretative Centre (the museum) will be closed for renovations, however, visits will still go ahead to the actual location to see Hellfire Pass. Then a visit will be made to Sir Weary Dunlop’s Park at the nearby Home Phutoey River Kwai Resort. Really enjoyed our 2 day River Kwai tour overnighting at the Resotel Resort. We were picked up right on time at 6.35am from our Bangkok Hotel. From there we were driven by mini bus to a location where a larger 45 seater bus was waiting. This bus would only have been a third full so there was plenty of room. Ken was our guide and gave great commentary. We were taken to the Kanchanaburi War Museum and Cemetery, then by long tailed boat to the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai. We were given the chance to walk the bridge before being taken to our accommodation at Resotel. Here we met our new guide Bobo, who was a font of knowledge. Great guide! Later that afternoon in a smaller group we visited a local Mon Village and were entertained that evening with a display of Mon dancing. The following day in a group of 4, we visited Hellfire Pass, which was a sobering experience, followed by a ride on the original track of the Death Railway. The entire tour ran like clockwork. We had fabulous guides and we were back in Bangkok around 7pm. Fantastic 2 day tour. Highly recommend!
