Trekking tour of ijen volcano from Banyuwangi. Your guide will take you to ascend to the summit of the ijen volcano through the darkness. Along the way up the hill you will meet the strong man called sulfur miner. They carry heavy back-breaking load of sulfur on their shoulders with bamboo baskets. The carry sulfur about 80-100kg in one way. Once arrive on the top, you will go to sunrise spot directly. When the sun breaks the sky with its light, (if weather clear) you will see the beauty of Ijen plateau. One of the biggest acidic lake on earth with turquoise color. All safety equipment is provided on this tour.

The trip was truly amazing. We enjoyed not only the beautiful views of the Ijen and its surrounding but also the companion of two wonderful people Nido and Dika. The organisation with East Java Paradise Travel was easy and very uncomolicated. We were picked up in our hotel on time and with Nido we had the best guide we ever had. He was funny, caring, and shared his experiences with us. He also helped us with translation so that we could buy some local fruits there. We had a great hike to the blue fire and were the happy ones who saw it. Thanks, Nido for this great experience.

We are so grateful we found this tour company! We were picked up by a driver at 3 am at our hotel in Banyuwangi, with our luggage and everything, then taken to the Ijen Mountain, where a different tour guide met us and walked with us to the summit. The hike is not too hard and the views were absolutely stunning, while the guide was very approachable and knowledgeable and shared a lot of anecdotes with us. After the hike, we were given breakfast by the tour guides, then our driver took us to Ketapang port, purchased ferry tickets for us and made sure we got on the ferry. Once on Bali, we were picked up by another driver who took us straight to our guesthouse there. Communication through Whatsapp to get information and book the tour workes flawlessly, Yoga was always available when we reached out with questions. Everything was organized so well, everyone involved was super nice and we felt safe and taken care of. If you are looking to clim the Ijen and to transfer from Banyuwangi to Bali on the same day, I would 100% recommend booking with this company, you will not regret it!

We went to Ijen in late April and this tour was amazing! Our guide was Pebri and he was so kind and knowledgeable. We were meant to be picked up at 2.30am to see the blue fire but it was closed as there were too many toxic gases where the blue fire normally is and the crater entry time was pushed back to 4am. So we changed our pickup to 6am as we needed some sleep and the only reason to get up early is to see the blue fire. Pebri and our driver Fredy had no problem with this and we're very accommodating. They were there right on time and brought us some food as well 👍 We drove to the crater parking which took about 30 mins and Pebri organised all the tickets and parking for us. We then started the hike up which is about 3.2km (5km around the rest of the rim) and 500mish of climbing. The views were amazing and Pebri pointed out the different mountains and how Ijen was formed. When we got to the top there was a lot of smoke from the crater so we couldn't see anything straight away. We put on our gas masks that Pebri bright for us where all the sulphur rock and mineral are and then walked around the rim of the crater. Pebri "whistled" the wind to come and blow the smoke away with a traditional Indonesian kind of "wind whistle", like a rain dance. It must have worked as eventually the wind came and blew way all the smoke and we got some fantastic pictures. Pebri knew exactly where to stand and how long to wait for. Turns out others had been waiting over 2 hours and we only had to wait 10 minutes whilst walking around the crater rim. Pebri took some awesome pictures and videos for us as well. When we were leaving, Pebri helped to book our ferry to Bali as well and then our taxi and second ferry to the hotel. He was so helpful. All in all a great experience, would definitely recommend to everyone who visits Java and especially Pebri, what a guide.
