Overview

This cooking class and market tour are our most popular offering. Together, the tour and the class take approximately four hours. The tour starts with accompanying our chefs to the world famous La Boqueria market, located nearby. During this 'behind the scenes' guided tour, you will meet many vendors, some of whom have been there for generations. You will learn about locally grown products and participate in the selection of ingredients that will be used later in the cooking class. Upon returning to our kitchen, you will begin preparing the four course menu. All our classes are designed for every skill level and are taught by professionally trained bilingual chefs. The classes provide a fun, social, hands-on experience, where you will be participating in the preparation of the various dishes under the thoughtful guidance of our chef instructors. Unlimited wines are included. All our menus can be adapted to accommodate any food restriction you may have, vegan included.

What Can You Expect?

Welcome to Barcelona Cooking where you are the chef! We offer hands-on recreational cooking classes overviewing Las Ramblas that are relaxed, authentic, fun, educational, and social. In our classes you will learn how to prepare authentic Spanish dishes like paella, tapas, soups, desserts, and more, all while meeting new friends from around the world. The classes are designed for cooks of all levels; beginners to professionals. A great activity for singles, couples, groups, or families! One thing is for sure: we are certain that spending time with us here at Barcelona Cooking will be one of the highlights of your trip!

Paella Cooking class with 8 other people . It’s was amazing we had lots of laughs and enjoyed learning how to make this amazing dish. Renata was a joy to be with and learned how to make a great dish . She was a great teacher great personality.

We experienced many wonderful adventures while in Barcelona, but our Spanish cooking lesson with Candido ranks prominently at the top of the list. Candido’s warm hospitality, impressive culinary knowledge, and his gentle and encouraging manners were so appreciated. From the time at La Bouqueria to find fresh supplies, to the preparation of five different items, to our eager consumption of our efforts, everything was so beautiful. The wine flowed freely, the conversations were rich and meaningful, and what started as a group of strangers evolved into new friendships. Be sure to include a lesson at Barcelona Cooking in your travel plans, you won’t regret it!

Juan was excellent! He is a knowledgeable Chef, along with being easy to understand and friendly. He made you feel like a family member learning how to cook Paella and making it enjoyable.
