Itinerary
During the day you will have opportunities to learn how to lead climb, rescue techniques and how to stay safe while traditional climbing. You will be ropes up with your guide the entire time and will be able to learn and enjoy new climbing location under the safe supervision of the instructor.
The day will start at the pre-planned meeting point where we will pack the correct kit for the day and depart for the climbing experience.
The approach to the climbing can vary on the location and your abilities, but generally it's between 15 and 60 minutes. Once at the start of our climb we will cover some basic climbing principles and then tie into ropes to begin the ascent.
Once on the climb itself, it is fairly straight forward as we make our way to the top of the rock feature which presents fantastic views of mountains like Mt Snowdon, tarns (small mountain lakes) and countryside.
Along the way we can cover climbing skills such as how to place protection, how to build anchors and abseil safely. Some locations require us to abseil to reach the bottom again but other times we may summit a mountain peak before hiking back down.
