If you’re spending some time in Bodrum, a day trip to Kos is something I definitely recommend. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the port where our guide met us and helped us with getting our tickets. The ferry was a quick and smooth trip. Once we arrived to Kos the passport control line was a bit long (20 mins approx.) as most ferries arrive at the same time, so if you’re planning boat trips departing from Kos for the day, this is definitely something to keep in mind. After we passed passport control it was smooth sailing. We were given free rain on what we wanted to as we didn’t have to stick with a tour guide or group. There are a lot of food options walking distance from the port, as well as the port filled with multiple day trip options. We opted for a relaxing day at the beach and a pleasant walk around. Kos is a beautiful island to walk around, lots of scenic views. We recommend 30 mins approx to pass passport control to get back on the ferry- but only because almost all ferries leave at the same time so there’s a lot of people. Once we arrived in Bodrum again, our driver picked us up and left us at our hotel too.

We were sold this trip as five hours in Kos, relaxing, sunbathing, eating wonderful food. The truth is you get collected at 7.30 am at your hotel. Get to Kos border control at 10.15, good so far!. It then take 2 3/4 hours to get though border control! 1pm and we are through, they advised us to get back between 3.30 to 4pm to allow enough time to get through the exiting border. 3 hours in Kos! We got back to our hotel at 8.30 pm a 13 hour day for a 3 hour visit . Complete waste of time and money, frustrating, not relaxing and would never go again.

I visited Bodrum this week and unfortunately left my bank card at home, I was helped by a lovely person called Ilkem in booking a trip and was given a payment link to pay for this. I cannot thank them enough as I was able to take my daughter on trip and wasn’t stuck in the hotel all day.
