Fred, our driver, was wonderful and took care of all our arrangements. We enjoyed three very different wineries and he made reservations for a lovely lunch. The day was perfect!
There were no memorable parts because this tour had to be canceled last minute because the cruise ship couldn’t make the port due to weather, THIS IS NO FAULT OF THE TOUR OPERATOR, except they will not refund the $700 due to the 24 hour cancellation notice, so we are out that money even though it was out of our control, I’m sure it would have been a fantastic tour had our ship docked, but instead we are left with a bad taste for La Vacanza Travel and their policies, the tour company deserves something for their efforts but the full amount seems a little ridiculous
My wife and I made a last minute reservation for this wine tour. And last minute means in less than 24 our driver/ tour guide Fred was able to pull off miracles by getting us wine tastings in Margaux and Pauillac regions that were great. Fred also recommended a lunch place near by at a spectacular restaurant between tastings. I would highly recommend this tour. Hope to return and do it again.
This was fantastic! Pascal’s knowledge of French wine is tremendous. He also made the trip entertaining and enjoyable with stories of the history and the famous families who’ve built Bordeaux wine to what it is today. This by far was the highlight of our trip. While expensive it was worth every penny!
The preparation for our wine tour started months before our arrival in Bordeaux. Frederick painstakingly made arrangements for us to visit the various sub Medoc vineyards in St Julien, Paulliac, and Margaux. We managed several vertical wine tastings and had a great lunch at La Maison D'Estournal with wines from Cos d'Estournal in St. Estephe.
