What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Have the experience of a lifetime as you cruise the snaking roads along the Cape Coast in a 1965 Backdraft Racing Cobra. Jump right into from the Cobra Experience offices located in the Iconic Bo-Kaap area of Cape Town. Start with a quick chat over a cup of coffee while we explain the history of these hand-built cars and show you what your itinerary looks like.

Start out towards Camps Bay and follow the snaking road through Hout Bay. Next up is Chapman's peak with its world-renowned views and indescribable scenery, here there are plenty of stops for pictures. The drive continues down towards Cape Point where the extensive views take your breath away!

From Cape Point, the drive up the coast features stops at Bolders ​​Beach to see the Penguin colony, a drive through Kalk bay​, a very popular lunch stop.

After lunch a short drive through​ the hills of the Constanti​a and over back into Hout bay towards the City.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND COBRA EXPERIENCE!! I received a gift voucher from my sister to rent a Cobra for a day for my 40th birthday. The vendor insisted, despite my repeated objections, that I provide my full credit card details including CVV number (in writing on a piece of paper) to cover the insurance deposit. No less than 7 days afterwards, two unauthorised online purchases were made by someone who had access to my credit card details. R2 800 and R4 700. Luckily my bank managed to stop it in time! The vendor dismissed our complaint as mere coincidence, even though they are the ONLY party that had access to my full credit card details other than myself. This is Africa! Rather play it safe and use a vendor that dont require credit card details and is above reproach!

Such an incredible way to explore Cape Town. If you like driving, this is the way to explore. So much better than a tour! We had an amazing experience. Hired it to drive chapsman peak and visit Cape Point. Loads of fun. Only slight disappointment was that you only get a certain amount of KM and then you pay over that. Bearing in mind they say its ideal to explore out to the Cape, we did that and still had to pay extra KM which worked out as an extra 140 rand. Bit annoying at the end but nonetheless an amazing day trip and the drive of Chapsman Peak in this car I will always remember.

It was a birthday treat from our children and my brother. It was amazing and my husband and I will definitely do it again. We upgraded our package to a full day treat. It wss worth every cent. Joseph who helped us ons Sunday was very helpful and friendly.

From the moment we arrived at the cobra shop to pick up our pre booked vehicle, service was outstanding. No additional fees were needed apart from the online rental payment. For international driving licenses a passport of driver needs to be provided. Very professional, welcoming, and helpful. We had the best day. Would highly recommend.

Couldn’t have had a better day out seeing the penguins and Cape of Good Hope. An amazing experience driving along the coastal roads I will do again!!!
