Ivan Le Kay and his driver Esaudore were so friendly and informative on our tour, the 8 hours seemed to go so quickly. Ivan is a former teacher, and his honest narrative, and amazing memory for historic details gave us depth and context for all the areas we visited. We started with a drive through the colorful homes in Bo Kaap then continued around the peninsula for impressive views of the homes and cliffs along the shoreline. We drove through Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve with a stop for a hike at the Cape of Good hope, visited the penguin colony, had a lovely lunch in Simon's Town and then saw more of Cape Town as we headed back to V&A. Ivan and Esaudore were such great companions for the day and it was such a great experience, I wish we had done this earlier in our visit to Cape Town.
