Take a historical walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela on the Long Walk to Freedom pathway.

Once you have boarded the shared boat with others you will set sail for 30 minutes on the open sea to Robben Island Museum. Upon your arrival at the Robben Island Jetty, you will disembark the boat and be guided on a shared bus with others by an ex-political prisoner at Robben Island Tour Guide for a shared tour of the island. The guide will provide live commentary about Robben Island and its history, indicating the various homes of ex-political prisoners and other landmarks. Powerful personal testimony from our guide and former political prisoner. The history and commentary by the bus guide deepened our understanding.

I always try to learn something when I travel. Robben Island was that stop this trip. If everyone who visits there made a commitment to not repeat mistakes of the past our world would be a better place.

No reason to use this service. Just buy from the museum directly online or in person for 1/3 of the price. Only difference is a bottle of water. Also, Evelyn from the tour company sent me a WhatsApp with my ticket and when I wrote back with a few questions she refused to ever answer me. Seriously, just use the museum directly.

La Vacanza Travel needs to be clearer in the description; there was a long line to board ferry which we could not "skip". Then everyone is just randomly placed on buses once on Robben Island. After receiving many confirmations, we could not access our actual tickets. Hotel concierge had to telephone the actual third party tour company
