Overview

False Bay is a mere 30min drive from Cape Town international airport and a shark hotspot. This fun and educational trip is for the whole family, with no age restrictions and no experience needed. We generally target three species of shark on these excursions namely Great white sharks, Bronze whaler sharks, and the prehistoric Sevengill shark. These sharks are awesome! Nothing compares to seeing a shark in real life for the first time and all preconceived ideas are crushed with the first viewing.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Complete the paperwork at the dive center.
Board the boat and receive a boat safety briefing and general information.
Leave the pier and head out to sea.
Arrive at the island between 10h00 and 10h30.
Brief clients on shark hunting behavior and what they can expect.
Anchor boat around 10h45 and start chumming to get sharks to the boat.
Drop the cage and brief clients on the cage dive and shark behavior around the boat.
Cage dive and view sharks for 3-4 hours on anchor.
Return to Simons Town harbor.

Absolutely awesome, exhilarating and fantastic experience. Cant stop talking about it. As a person who prefers the terrafirma adventures this experience is firmly my best in a long while. Heart pounding stuff getting into that shark cage and seeing sharks so close up to the cage. Besides sharks we were blessed to also see and experience dolphins all around the boat. The overall experience was as perfect as you can get. Compliments to Stefan and the boat crew who kept us engaged and informed and who made this experience a fun one. Lots of laughter and smiles until you get into that cage. Still can't stop thinking about this experience. Thank you Shark Explorers

The experience is absolutely amazing! We did the cage diving and there were sooo many bronze sharks! The crew was great. Nina, Ernst, Jason are professionals! They attracted sharks very close to the cage. Some literally bumped their noses to the cage! We’ve spent 1h inside the cage, it’s breathtaking! And Lindy (the business owner) is absolutely adorable! Highly recommend you go with these guys!

Fantastic morning out on the water with friendly and knowledgeable crew, who took great care of my 14 year old son and I. Were lucky enough to see about 20 sharks up close in the cage, it was an amazing experience.

It’s been my son’s dream since he was little to see sharks from a shark cage. Here on holiday, we looked up this company online to do this. Was surprised to see they offered the experience for the whole family. My son is now 13, but assumed my daughter (10) and youngest son (7) would be too young to do this, so was really leased to hear we could all go. What an incredible company. The staff are all so caring and their clients and passionate about their trips and the sharks, so knowledgeable and professional. The 5 of us went out on the boat with about 12 other people. Groups of 6 took turns to go in the cage for 20 mins each while the crew did an incredible job feeding the sharks so lots of them came really close. There was towels and snacks for when we’d finished. The crew were so so great with all the clients, especially our kids, helping everyone with the wetsuits etc. my son’s hat blew off, a shark tried to eat it, but spat it out and then the crew retrieved it from the water! All my kids were blown away! Daughter said “20 mins of pure awesomeness, best day of my life!” My youngest has not stopped taking about it, saying he wants to work here when he grows up. Nice touches like the free hot drinks, discounts and genuine warms made it all so special. Thank you Lindy, your sons, Ernest and Jason x
