Itinerary
One of our friendly guides will collect you from your hotel in Cape Town and you get to know each other a bit before departure. On the drive, your guide will give you some key information about where you're headed, who the community partners are, what you'll experience, and general best practices to bear in mind.
Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the community partners and your guide will facilitate a little bit of conversation before jumping into the Upcycled Crafts Workshop.
The concept of upcycling will be explained to you, with many end-products to show as examples. Depending how long you can stay (you'll provide us that info upon booking), you'll be able to make different products and handicrafts:
1 hr (2 hrs total incl. travel to & from) — Small handicrafts, e.g. shapes, signs, ornaments, rings & earrings.
2 hrs (3 hrs total " ") — Large handicrafts, e.g. flowers, placemats
3 hrs (4 hrs total " ") — Advanced crafts, e.g. necklaces, bracelets, pieces involving beadwork and sewing.
You'll be guided every step of the way. If you're ever feeling at a loss, a community partner will step in to assist you.
