Great trip, obviously weather has to factor in for a trip like this but the guide made it worth the visit. Really enjoyed the tasting at the gift shop/cafe, even bought some produce 😋

Moreno our guide was personable and very knowledgeable about Mt. Etna and its history. He made the trip enjoyable for everyone in the group. We also liked that it was a small group .

Like most of the reviews here, we had an amazing time and highly recommend this tour and Etna Tribe in general (we took another tour as well and their website is accurate and detailed - spot on). Pick up in an eight seater van from the hotel in Catania and a lovely and informative drive with our awesome guide Pepe to the base area Rifugio Sapienza. From there you have the option to take the cable car (additional cost) to go higher and walk the newer craters there, but we opted to stay at the base and had a longer tour with Pepe and saw amazing craters and learnt about the volcano, lava and how vegetation slowly starts to return. Truly unique! We then drove and stopped by a small cave to learn more about the lava and rock formations, and ended in a wonderful farm / restaurant that provided some wine, oil on bread and other liqueur samples, but we happily bought a bit of lunch and wine in this lovely setting.

Our guide Enzo was brilliant. Telling stories on the journey both fun and factual. We were in a small group of different nationalities and ages of which he made everyone feel welcome. He explained the itinerary of the day when and where to meet and if there were any changes. I had fractured my arm of which he was very aware of and helpfull. The tour was of the right length and we were able to see the countryside during the day. Highly recommended.
