This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Rochester Falls, Savanne River, Souillac, Mauritius

Begin your 8 hours South-West Nature tour with a complimentary hotel pick-up at your accommodation anywhere on the Paradise Island.

You will meet and be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding to your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop.

You'll be heading to Rochester fall to explore the magnificent view of the waterfall which makes it a relaxing experience. The Rochester Falls are perfect as well for escaping the sun and relaxing in the water while admiring your surroundings. You can enjoy the beauty in silence and the playful will enjoy themselves as well.

Afterward, continue to Souillac to see the astounding view of Gris-Gris, where a light wind sweeps your hair and this immaculate view stuns you – you are facing the sea – so blue – which looks like a beautiful fresco. After two minutes of walking, you will explore Roche-qui pleure, where you will have the opportunity to witness the angry waves which come crashing on the cliffs. These two places will give you a truly amazing opportunity to take great pictures.

After some time, travel to "Ti- Bassin" where you will be able to admire one of the most stunning craters on the Island.

Then, continue to Grand Bassin sacred lake which is the most important place of worship for Mauritian Hindus. Grand Bassin is a crater lake, about 550 meters above sea level, located in the mountainous Southwest district of Savanne. On the shoreline sits a temple along with a collection of small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and other gods.

Your next stop is Alexandra fall Viewpoint, where you will admire the cloud forest of Mt Cocotte, (771m) and the waterfall along with the view down to the south coast. The electrifying green of the region, the diverse luxuriant flora and fauna and the magnificent landscapes altogether make it a wonderful way to connect with nature.

After a few minutes, you'll head to Gorge Viewpoint, where you will stop for a stunning panorama. The Black River Gorges Nature Reserve was preserved in order to save the natural vegetation of the island and make it one of the most important Mauritian sights.

At around 12.15 - 12.30, you'll be heading to a local restaurant to savor a 3-course traditionally Mauritian lunch. Our guide will give you the Freshverde Holidays' menu card and you can choose your preferable menu for lunch.

Following lunch, you'll be heading to visit the seven-colored earth & Chamarel waterfall, which is one of the most famous and most visited attractions in Mauritius. Seven colored Earth is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colors (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow).

Afterward, continue to Ebony forest nature reserve where you can strolling, sauntering or simply meandering along the trails and tracks at Ebony Forest. With the exception of the trail to Piton Canot, where there are some areas of steeper terrain, none of our trails are particularly difficult. Along the trails, you will find secluded spots with benches and spectacular viewpoints and discover nature’s hidden treasures.

Next, you'll be heading to Maconde viewpoint to admire the panoramic view of the remarkable ocean. You will feel like "you are in the middle of the ocean."  The day last stop is Islet Sancho and Riviere Des Galets which will give you a memorable experience as you need to cross the low tide to explore the islet and you will witness the huge waves crashing upon the "Flat stone rocks" which is unique in Mauritius.

Your exotic south-west full-day Nature tour ends with return transport to your hotel.

Duration: 8 hours

Stop At: Ebony Forest Reserve, Seven Coloured Earth Road, Chamarel, Mauritius 90409

Journey through our interpretation centre where you will witness 8 million years of history, from the volcanic eruptions that created the island and the unique animals and plants that once lived here, until our actions ultimately destroyed it. See the efforts being made to rebuild and restore the Island’s fragile habitats. Surprise !!!

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Chamarel’s Seven Coloured Earth Geopark, Chamarel, Mauritius

Undoubtedly the tallest single-drop waterfall in Mauritius at about 100m high, the Chamarel Waterfall is a striking piece of nature standing amid dense vegetation. Fed by the waters of three distinct streams pouring into Saint Denis River, it has a powerful rush with a peak flow rate in excess of 40,000 m³ per minute.

Proceeding along the Seven Coloured Earth Geopark’s 3km access road, which makes for a scenic drive to the geosite, don’t miss the waterfall’s viewpoint on your left. Offering a front-row view of this wonder of nature, it can be accessed via a trail snaking through dense foliage. The seven Coloured Earth is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow).

Overhanging the ledge of a basalt cliff, the Chamarel Waterfall splashes into an oval pool before flowing down a 6km tropical-forest-fringed canyon to Baie du Cap. The sight not only floods the senses with freshness but it is also a spectacular showcase of millions of years of volcanic activity. The dramatic landscape if formed by lavas of two different ages. The layer of brecciated basalt near the base dates from between 10 to 8 million years ago, on top of which lies a second layer from the intermediate period between 3.5 and 1.7 million years ago.

No wonder why the Chamarel Waterfall is ranked among the most sought-after sightseeing spots in Mauritius!

Our tour guide Hans gave us a personalized tour of his part of Mauritius, the beautiful South. In addition to taking us to see the most well-known sights, he also spoke to us about all aspects of life in Mauritius on the long drive form our hotel in the northwest. He also found out about us and was able to modify parts of the tour to better meet our interests. In our case, providing an additional opportunity to see the fauna of the island.in place of an activity of less interest to us. We really felt like we got an excellent overview of the South as a whole from Gris-Gris to the Black River Gorge and the spectacular waterfalls. We would definitely use this tour operator again and would recommend this as the one tour to take if you have limited time (as we did) on Mauritius.
