Overview

Foodie and Experiences Cooking Class is located right outside of Corredera Food Market at Jugo Vinos Vivos; the first natural wine bar opened in 2014 in Cordoba. The classes are developed by Gabrielle Mangeri, a world traveler from New York City who landed in Cordoba with her husband and two daughters in 2010.

During this guided tour, you will buy all of the seasonal ingredients for a dynamic and delcious cooking class, learn about locally grown products and participate in the selection of the recipes that will be used to make a hand crafted menu using the best fresh and seasonal ingredientes.

A class which combines a passion for food with creativity and intuition.
A moment to activate our senses and relish in the pleasures of food and wine, of art and music and to begin a conversation with slow living.

We begin our day at the main food market in the historic center of the city. Feel like a local tasting, smelling and living a day in the life of a Cordoba Food Lover! We make several stops on our way back to our natural wine shop, picking up all of the delicious ingredients we´ll be using as we prepare a very special meal together! Improvising as we visit the market stalls tasting as we go all of the new things that grab our attention. See something you'd like to try? Let's grab it and throw it on the fire! Life is an adventure, and food is a connection in that adventure towards new experiences! We look forward to relishing in the delicious parts of the city with you.

We had an amazing time during our cooking class with Gaby! The event starts at a local market where we grabbedour necessities and unique things we wanted to taste in addition to the main meal. Then we took a quick walk to Gaby's shop where we prepared the meal. It was great learning about how the Spanish dishes are made and chatting throughout the day. We had a couple glasses of beer/wine too while cooking. I would definitely recommend this class — we had so much fun! Thank you, Gaby!

Great fun day out with Gabi as our mentor. We agreed our menu, bought it in the local market and then cooked it together in Gabi's wine shop. We cooked Spicey Prawns followed by Meat Paella.

Gabi was a fantastic host for my daughter and me. We had a wonderful time chatting about life, meanwhile shopping for and cooking a fantastic meal. I highly recommend this tour because Gabi has deep knowledge and experience regarding Spanish culture, ingredients and techniques- combined with an authentic interest in the people she meets. She wanted us to make something that we’d enjoy. This is no formulaic tour. It’s very personal and it’s like you’re cooking with a friend. We left inspired by how she lives her life with her family and how she shares her values through the experience she offers. I highly recommend this experience in Córdoba. Thank you!

We had an amazing day with Gabi and our cooking class and market tour was so fun! We learned a lot and are going to make paella tonight for dinner after we make a trip to the grocery store. We brought back saffron which is so much less expensive in Spain than here. Gabi has lived in Spain for 20 years so her English and Spanish are both excellent. This was one of the best things we did in our 16 days in Spain! Highly recommend!!!

We do one 'big' trip each year, and a "must do" on each is a cooking class somewhere. Since for the second part of this year's Spain trip we planted ourselves in the lovely hill town of Archidona, we set out to find something relatively nearby, and were lucky enough to spot the Cordoba Spanish Cooking Class here on Trip Advisor, and we are SO glad we did. Our class was led by Gabriel ("Gabby"), a transplant from New York who has been living in Spain now for 20+ years. She met us promptly at the meeting spot, and we talked a bit about menu preferences, but right away there was an instant rapport. After a stop at a specialty bread shop and then a market for the ingredients, we proceeded down the lovely streets of Cordoba to the venue, which itself was unique and special. Seems she and her husband have opened a little wine bar/shop specializing in "natural wine," an idea that takes the concept of "organic" to a whole different level. This was a small space to be sure, but it was just MAGIC! Havier, her husband, leads walking tours of Cordoba and brought his group over for a wine tasting while we cooked. Other people from the neighborhood stopped in as well. A Brit who used to work in the music industry but is now distributing high-end tequila in Spain stayed the whole time of our class and joined us for the lunch we made of salmorejo, seafood paella, cabbage salad, and an alioli (a homemade mayo Gabby did that, frankly, was so good you could put it on an old shoe and swear it was the best thing you ever ate). The day was less like a "cooking class" and more like a leisurely afternoon cooking, eating, and drinking with people you've known for your whole life. There aren't a lot of cooking class options in the immediate area, but even if you're not right nearby, it's worth going to Cordoba for this.
