What a great way to see the city if on your first visit to Edinburgh. We had an excellent guide who certainly knew it all. We stayed on for the whole hour and 15 minute circuit and probably saw a lot more from the top deck than trying to walk to the various points of interest. Definitely the £32-00 we paid.

We bought a 24hr ticket late on the afternoon of our arrival covering the 3 routes. We were then able to do a quick tour that evening to get our bearings and take a more leisurely tour of the outlying areas the following day. The first tour had a guide on board and he was so informative and entertaining. Second tour was prerecorded but still enjoyable. The staff we encountered, at the booking office & on board were all so friendly and eager to offer assistance.

I especially enjoyed seeing the Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. Commentators/guides provided lots of interesting facts throughout the tour.

We very much enjoyed the castle and cathedral and riding the bus around town. It was a bit cold. Might be better to visit in May -August.
