Itinerary
Experience the Rif pottery during 4 mindful hand made pottery days with a local potter to learn one of the most authentic hand making pottery style in the rif Mountains
DAY1: we take a 30 mint from walk from Hisham homestay through the pine forest and olive groves to meet our potter accompanied by her donkey near her village to collect the gravels and typical clay that get mixed together for pottery preparation at home. Today you will focus more on learning from Zhour how to model the clay with our hands by using two flat discs to enable the rotation.
DAY2: back to the workshop to continue burnishing the pots.This is done carefully by a small limestone to hide any defect and to tighten the surface.
DAY3: today we will apply dyening the pots with a soaked cloth preparing the surface of the pots to be decorated by the natural pigments and a goat hair brush. The same evening the finished pieces will be placed on a bed of pine needles and firewood and then covered by the natural fuel made of cow dung, straw and olive pits.
DAY4: After the breakfast, we get packed ourselves to collect your made pieces as the most important pottery journey souvenirs you have experienced with us.
