In this activity you will get to know the ingredients and the authentic culinary traditions of the area, you will experience firsthand the preparation of fresh pasta and pesto and you can have lunch in a wonderful location surrounded by trees and flowers

What Can You Expect?

Learn how to cook typical genoese fresh pasta and make the most delicious and well known sauce: the pesto!
The whole activity will be carried out in a very beautiful garden

To reach the garden it is necessary to walk 5 minutes uphill and climb the stairs up to the 3rd floor (there is no lift), so the activity is not suitable for people who struggle with Hills and steps. The participants will learn about the ingredients and the traditions: they will make the dough for fresh pasta and learn how to shape it, the technique of making pesto with traditional tools and all tips from a real local.

Once the meal is ready you'll have lunch in the garden

    Absolutely brilliant time at Alessandro’s beautiful terrace garden with sea views close to Principe station in Genoa . Learnt to make 2 types of pasta including Testeroli which is made from more like a batter than dough. Made fresh Genoese pesto with lots of basil. Then ate in garden with wine under lemon and kumquat tree canopy . A small but select group of like minded people who we gelled with straight away and who made it a very convivial experience.

    It was a rainy day so we were moved inside but my daughters, husband and I had a wonderful time. Everything tasted delicious and we would 100% do it again.

    Class held in a quaint garden. The walk uphill is very steep. So worth the effort. Our class had an amazing afternoon preparing a very nice lunch.,

    Alessandro’s class is a treasure where he welcomes you into his private garden for a hands on wonderful lesson with fresh pasta and pesto. It exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend.

    This was a wonderful experience. Alessandro was a patient teacher and the food was delicious. The other couples were lovely and cooking outside on an Italian hillside was special.
