My bestie and I had the loveliest time on the Tapas and Flamenco tour with Marcel! Couldn’t beat the delicious foods and wines/vermút, and had front row seats at the flamenco show. Marcel is an absolutely wonderful guide, full of fun history and stories. I even took my family back to one of the places we toured for more tasty tapas a few days later. Highly recommend!!
Our guide was Molly, and it was an absolute joy to be guided through Granada by her. Molly walked us through the city, to a fancy bar, and to one of the oldest tapas places in the city, through the souk, to a patisserie for desert and then on to the flamenco venue. She carefully explained the history of the flamenco, explained the music and lyrics and told us some things to notice. She also gave us the run down on Iberica ham, the styles of tapas and the Spanish approach to eating. We visited a turrone shop for samples, where we found nougat we much preferred to that from Montelimar in France, or from Italy. We learned about the herb blends in a specialist shop and had a wonderful local sweet in the patisserie. We loved the tapas, and the introduction to albarinha wine in the first bar, and then were amazed that the tapas and drinks kept coming in the second. We learned about vermouth and other drinks. Molly gave us excellent advice for our visit to the Alhambra the next day. We were given excellent front row seats to an intimate and gritty flamenco show, and enjoyed it all the more for our new-found knowledge. We recommend this tour with Molly with no hesitation. The meeting place was easy to find and we were very confident to revisit the areas she recommended over the next days.
Molly our guide could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable about Grenada and the general area. The three Tapas locations were great and all three slightly different. Molly also explained some local culture and shared some of her personal experiences. We ended the evening with great Falamenco show and some great front row seats.
We attended the Tapas and Flamenco tour with Molly and had a great time. We learned a lot about the history and context behind the tapas and wine while we ate, which I really enjoyed. The tapas and wine were all very yummy, and visiting local shops was helpful with Molly, since I'm often unsure which shops are worth visiting and which items are best value in each shop. The flamenco show at the end of the tour was beautiful and we had great seats. I would certainly recommend this tour, and like others, recommend doing it at the beginning of your stay so you can revisit the stops.
If you really want to get an insight into the culture of Granada this tour is a must. The guide Molly was very informative yet entertaining with expert knowledge. We started with a drink and tapas at a bar where we all introduced ourselves to the other guests. We then went to the Souk area where we were introduced to Medievo Herbal Infusions. Marvelous place to peruse and sample different herbs. Then onto a Turron place, this was nirvana for me, at no point was we asked to buy, yet we all did. There were further stops in Casa Castenada,Alemeda and Bernina before going onto the dramatically powerful Flamenco Show A great evening, over too soon, shared with a young couples from USA and Canada and us pensioners 😊
