Stop At: Guangzhou, Guangzhou, Guangdong

Coconut Chicken Soup: Start the evening the local way with a special soup believed to have strong medicinal properties. Ingredients are chosen seasonally and cooked in a precise order over 4 hours.

Rice Noodle Rolls: Visit a shop that uses traditional woven bamboo mats to prepare delicate rolls filled with meat and topped with seasoned soy sauce. This spot is a long-time staple in the local community.

Wonton Noodles: These special noodles are made from duck eggs and flour, then kneaded and pressed with a rare method using bamboo poles. The result? An impressively thin noodle with a thick chewy texture, perfectly accentuated by a light broth and shrimp wontons.

Cantonese Imperial Cuisine: As river dwellers, we love fish. Enjoy a spread of sashimi that is prepared using a traditional Canontese method, served alongside dishes carefully chosen to highlight the fish’s flavor and texture while balancing the body.

A wonderful, easy, delicious, eye-opening, delightful evening. This is a great way to see and taste the city, eating a delicious dish, then walking 10 minutes in the popular streets and back alleys I'd never find in my own, then stopping to eat again. Wow. Thanks.

Had a great time trying local Cantonese food. Our tour guide, Amber, did really well showing us around and introducing the dishes.

Guangzhou, an ancient city and a modern metropolis, captivated me with its vibrant energy and incredible food scene. But navigating the sheer variety of culinary delights can be daunting. Enter the Guangzhou Evening Food Tour, a delicious adventure that led me through hidden alleys, local eateries, and a treasure trove of unforgettable flavors - fried eels!!! From the moment I met our excellent guides, Mia and Ruixi, I knew I was in for a treat. Their warm smiles and infectious enthusiasm were as inviting as the aroma of sizzling street food that wafted through the air. Their depth of knowledge about Guangzhou's culinary history and culture was astounding. They weren't just serving food but weaving a tapestry of stories, traditions, and local life that made every bite even more meaningful. The tour was a carefully curated journey through Guangzhou's evening food scene. We ducked into tiny, family-run restaurants where generations had perfected their signature dishes. We sampled coconut bowl chicken soup, steamed rice noodles made on bamboo mats, seafood, and incredible noodles from a shop called Noodles. Each stop was a new explosion of taste and texture, a testament to the diversity and depth of Cantonese cuisine. And let's not forget the beer! Mia and Ruixi kept the glasses full of refreshing brew, making the whole experience even more fun and friendly. It was the perfect way to bond with fellow food lovers and share stories as we savored the city's vibrant atmosphere. But the Guangzhou Evening Food Tour was more than just a delicious journey. It was a window into the heart of this incredible city. Mia and Ruixi's passion for their hometown was contagious, and they shared insights into local customs, traditions, and the everyday lives of Guangzhou residents. By the end of the tour, I felt like I wasn't just a tourist anymore but a guest welcomed into the warmth of Guangzhou's culinary community. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Guangzhou, look no further than the Guangzhou Evening Food Tour. You're guaranteed a night of delicious discoveries, insightful cultural encounters, and genuine fun. Highly recommended.

I have lived in Guangzhou for a few years and have eaten a lot of different things, but this tour offered me new, delicious dishes I hadn't tried before! Loved the neighborhood too. I wouldn't recommend this tour for Western travelers who aren't used to walking in Chinese cities or using squatty potties, however. Great for the mildly adventurous, open-minded food lover!
