Hippie Surf School & Surf Camp introduces you to surfing on some of Sri Lanka's most stunning beaches. Professional surf coaches all with a minimum of eight years experience in the local area will take you to the best waves, teaching you the foundations of good surfing in a fun-filled and safe environment. Hippie Surf School & Surf Camp offers surf experiences from total beginners looking for an introduction to surfing to intermediate surfers looking to fine tune their surfing techniques.

The surf sessions, which are daily surf safaris, will take you to some stunning surf locations that are perfect for learning to surf. The two lessons are a complete introduction to surfing so whether you have never surfed before or want a refresher course, the experience is tailored specifically for you. Enough time will be spent explaining ocean safety which ensures that you will know the safe area to surf or swim.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Every individual will be accessing to customise individual surf train packages.
The absolute basics in a fun, safe and encouraging environment.
Safety on the beach and in the white water, how to handle your board and how to negotiate your way through breaking waves.
We’ll introduce you to your equipment and explain the basics of a surfboard and what that means to you as a surfer.
How to catch forgiving waves and how to understand the basics of controlling a surfboard whilst laying on your belly in the prone position.
The techniques to get to your feet and how to maintain stability and build on consistency.
Basic manoeuvres in the white water such as speed and control as well as turning right and left on a wave.
Your success will come from your willingness to learn new things and not be afraid to fall.

The best experience in my whole life! That was my dream to learn surfing. I was really happy to choose this guys. evErything was really easy to understand without my perfect English. Nice theory lesson and practice!

What a pleasant team! My wife started talking to them while we were still in the UK ( via whatsapp) and they have been nothing but a delight. They kindly arranged transport from our hotel, ensure we got back safely and the lessons - they were very comprehensive. They taught her how to handle her self on dry land 1st and then when she got in the water it was a 1 to 1. She absolutely loved the team and the experience!

We had a really nice surf lesson. Even the waves were difficult for us beginners, our teachers manage that we could learn a lot. All Team-Members were very friendly (especially dog Mogli) and helpful. Booking a lesson was very uncomplicated.

Mia the owner of hippy surf camp gave me all important instructions on the beach and one of his surf Instructor Jonty supported me perfectly in the water. He always corrected me right away and gave me helpful advices which helped me to stand up right away. I can really recommend these incredible sympathtic guys with a big knowledge of surfing and I appreciated very much this adventure. Very good value for money! Don’t wait go and surf with them 👍🏄🏼‍♀️
