Choice of Mangrove SUP or Canoeing & Blue Cave Snorkeling

You can enjoy cruising in the Miyara River by SUP or canoe in the nature.

Snorkeling will take you to "Blue Cave" and its surrounding area to play with fishes. This plan allows you to fully enjoy the nature of Ishigaki!

The tour will be held rain or shine. However, we may cancel the tour if we deem that the field is unsafe.

Please change into clothes that you do not mind getting wet before the tour.

Please use the restroom before coming to the tour. (There are no restrooms near the tour site.)

Please do not participate in the event if you have been drinking.

Please contact us in advance if you will be late.

If you wish to meet at the local meeting point, parking fee (300Yen) will be charged separately.

※We offset the CO2 which occurred during a tour by planting.

    Our mangrove and blue cave tour with Takahiro was absolutely excellent. He was very attentive, safety conscientious and knowledgable about Ishigaki! He has also taken excellent pictures of us! Excellent tour service and operator. Thank you

    We had a great day on Ishigaki. We got picked up by Taka in the morning, who turned out to be a really friendly and knowledge guide. He spoke English well. He took many photos of us during the whole day, so no need to bring your own camera. In the morning we went canoeing in the mangroves. We made several stops along the way to learn about the nature and take pictures. It was great. After the lunch break at the port, we headed to Osaki beach for snorkeling. The blue cave was not accessible, because the weather was windy. We took the coastal road towards Osaki beach, which was a memorable experience in itself with stunning views. Osaki beach had nice coral reefs, although they seemed to suffer a little bit from bleaching. Nevertheless we saw many colorful fish of various sizes and even a sea snake. We also found Nemo thanks to Taka who pointed us towards 'him'. Taka also dove to the bottom of the sea and helped us feel a sea cucumber. Taka took also many photos and videos of us from underwater. In total, we got 1 hour of canoeing and 1 hour of snorkeling, which made for an amazing experience.

    When you book the tour it says it includes pick up service, but beware, if you are too far north, they will say you have to come to a meeting point in the south of the island. It starts too early to take the bus and a taxi will cost 35€ one way. So you can add 70€ to the price of this tour if you have a hotel in the north somewhere. The day schedule is 1 hour snorkeling in the morning and 1 hour SUP or kayak in the mangrove in the afternoon. That is it. The rest is transportation and around noon they just let you get lunch for two hours in the small town. The snorkeling itself is nice and the kayaking too, but for this price, it is not worth it. Snorkeling gear is easily rented elsewhere much cheaper (for example at jelly fish Yonohara beach) and even my hotel had a couple of kayaks available for 15€ and a mangrove river close by (Sunset Cove, also available for visitors). And forget about snorkeling at blue cave. We had perfect weather, no waves, no wind and they said the conditions weren't good (refusing to explain the reason) so they took us to Osaki beach. Nice place, but you can easily go there yourself. We were only on the island for 3 days and feel like we wasted a day with them. The tour guides are very nice guys though.

    Great experience! The morning was the SUP or canoe. I did the canoe but recommend the SUP as I was the only one who didn’t get the memo that the SUP is way more awesome! Don’t make the same mistake as me! There is a 2 hour break for lunch on your own which was unexpected but actually was good… no risk of average food since you pick it yourself! The snorkeling was by far the highlight. Going alone to do the snorkeling in this special spot would not be practical so having guides is critical. The team guiding us really gave us a great and safe experience. The only challenge can be if you are the only English speaking person on the tour like I was. About 90% of the stuff said was in Japanese and not translated for me. That said, it didn’t take away from the experience and Loui (one of the amazing guides) did her best to translate as much of the content as possible.
