Stop At: National Mosque (Masjid Negara), Jalan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur 50480 Malaysia

Guests who have opted for the private tour will be picked up by your driver cum guide for the coming hours as you pass the various landmarks of the Malaysian capital. Malaysia enthusiasts who are keen to share their experiences with others may follow a scheduled pick up plan by a driver before touring Kuala Lumpur. An essential part of Kuala Lumpur is the National Mosque, better known as the Masjid Negara (may not be possible on Fridays). The holiest place for the Islamic community, the distinctive design has made the mosque a sight not to be skipped.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Tugu Negara, Kuala Lumpur, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We follow the capital trails further towards the Tugu Negara, a memorial of historical value for those perished during the war.

Duration: 30 minutes

Pass By: Mahkamah Persekutuan Malaysia, Istana Kehakiman, Persiaran Perdana, Presint 3, 62506 Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya, Malaysia

We head back into the city and pass the Moorish-styled Federal Court. The latter building dominates the landscape of central Kuala Lumpur with its impressive dome.

Stop At: Malayan Railway Administration Building, 5 Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Kuala Lumpur 50050 Malaysia

As we continue to the Thean Hou Temple (for private tours, joint tours will visit the National Museum), we pass three significant buildings. The old Railway station has withstood the test of time, and its architecture is a striking example of Mohammedan architecture. Part of the British legacy, the meticulously maintained, Tudor-style Cricket Club is an example of these colonial influences.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Thean Hou Temple, 65 Persiaran Endah Off Jalan Syed Putra, Kuala Lumpur 50460 Malaysia

Finally, we take a quick peek from the outside the King’s Palace. With the Thean Hou Temple complementing our trip along with the city highlights - a six-tiered temple, regarded as one of South-East Asia’s biggest Chinese temples in– your guide cum driver makes his way back to your hotel. The tour was a good way to get around and see some major sites in KL. We felt our guide could have given more details, culture, context, and history of the city, cultures and architecture. The guide did have a lot of knowledge but we had to ask specific detailed questions to get the information. The tour was touted as an architectural tour but there wasn’t really much on those features of building etc either. A hop on hop off bus would have been better because that is basically what it was with a bit of narration.
