Overview

Mount batur is located in Kintamani sub-district, Bangli district. From 1804 - 2000 Mount Batur erupted 30 times. The most devastating eruption was on August 2 - September 21, 1926, with the lava hoarding Batur Village and Ulun Danu Batur Temple. Mount Batur has a height of 1717mdpl Part of the mountain's body collapsed due to a massive eruption, so that a very large crater called the caldera was formed. With an altitude of 1717 Mdpl, the beginner climbers preferred the tracks here. Mount Batur has a very extraordinary view. Climbing Mount Batur usually starts around 3 am and the time needed to reach the summit is approximately 3 hours for beginners.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

A tour to see the beautiful views from the Mt. Batur volcano as the sun rises above the horizon.

Between 2 to 3 am, we will provide private transportation from your hotel to the hiking starting point, at the base of Mt. Batur. (Arrival time to this location is around 3:45am). There you will meet your local hiking guide, who will explain all of the safety procedures. You will then start your exciting journey to the top of the volcano crater, and should arrive around 6am. You can then enjoy the sunrise, as you trek around the top of the crater. At the top of the crater, a small breakfast is included. We then depart for the hike down around 7:30am, arriving back to your vehicle around 9am. On the way back to your hotel, we can also stop at a Balinese coffee and spice plantation.

We visited Ubud in Bali for 10 nights in October and I had already arranged tours and airport transfers with Bali Traditional Tours before we arrived based on their great reviews. From the moment we got there we felt as though we were among friends. Wayan took us to and from the airport and was always punctual, friendly and engaging. Meanwhile for the 4 different tours during our stay we had Ketut Mawa as our guide. He emailed us the day before each tour to give us all the info we needed and picked us up punctually from our hotel each time. We loved each of the tours we did and he was the friendliest, most relaxed and informative guide. The 4 tours we did were: The Kintamani day tour. Mt. Batur Sunrise trek. Tanah Lot Sunset day tour. River Rafting. Safe to say we couldn’t pick a favourite out of these as they were all brilliant.
