Overview

Explore the pop culture of Las Vegas on a two-hour walking tour that begins on the steps of the Mob Museum ending with a complimentary drink at the El Cortez Hotel of Bugsy Siegel fame. The premium small group, maximum of six, will tour Fremont as America’s great performance street with the world’s biggest video screen, the largest collection of neon, two zip lines, fancy flare bartenders and feathered showgirls. Stand in the spot where Las Vegas began; hear how the Mob shaped history; see where the World Series of Poker started, check out the hotel from "Back to the Future" and the dive bar that inspired the movie "Coyote Ugly". The tour ends in an entrepreneur district of cool cafes, bars, fantastic murals and a famed fire sculpture from Burning Man Festival. Led by a Vegas-savvy guide, the tour tells an improbable tale of a desert oasis becoming a spectacular one-of-a-kind city of gambling, entertainment and now sports all told in an original story of Vegas themes and local lore.

Great tour. Learned that the first downtown hotel was built in 1906. Don’t hesitate to book! Nice tour that isn’t too overwhelming.

This tour was so much fun. It was entertaining and informative. Rick has a passion for what he does and his background is in culture and has lived and worked in Vegas for a long time. You can tell how much he cares about the topic and is knowledgable. I enjoy walking tours when I visit cities. I've donne some where someone has just memorized a script and can't answer any questions not in what they've been told. Rick created this tour and he can answer questions and give his thoughts on a variety of topics. I highly recommend that you do this tour on your first day as he gives some great suggestions to things to check out. He has a great energy and is fun to be around. It's a nice small size group so it feels more intimate which lends itself to a lot of interaction and asking questions. I'll be recommending this tour to everyone who I know that visits Vegas. Tip: If you're staying on the strip and taking the Deuce bus, add in extra time for the construction that's going on. I was coming from the south end at Excalibur and it took 20 minutes longer than what Google maps said but luckily I'd padded in an extra 30 minutes in my planning just in case.
