What an adventure. Very well organised by Rinjani Trek Adventure from briefing, transport, food, camping equipment, guides and porters. Overall it was a very challenging 2 days but an experience I will never forget. Big thanks to Rinjani Trek Adventure. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to climb Senura Crater or Mt. Rinjani. Also to stay at the Senura Garden Homestay.
We did the 2D1N hike to the crater rim and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is stunning but if you don’t have the right team you won’t enjoy the experience at his best. Adi is a very friendly business owner, he runs the Rinjani Trek Adventures and arranged a very experienced team of 2 porters and one guide for me and my girlfriend. Adi’s brother runs an homestay in Senaru, we stayed there so we got to enjoy the whole family experience (delicious local food, good chats and waterfalls tour). Moreover, Adi arranged all the transfers for us so I recommend to use their services as a one stop shop and bundle the whole experience. We had an excellent experience with Yot, our young and wise tour guide. His English was very good and he made the experience a whole different level where we connected to each other telling our life stories, learning while we were hiking about our cultures, so different but somehow similar. Yot helped my girlfriend during the challenging parts and motivated us to track on schedule to enjoy the best experience. In fact, Egian and Andre which are Yot’s elders brothers were our porter. They carried all the way 20kg of supply and camping gear for us, cooking unbelievable meals (always different and aligned with sunset/sunrise). They set up the tent is a strategic spot, sheltered but with a beautiWe can only be grateful to have shared this experience with such a beautiful and skilful operators. We highly recommend them.
The agency is very well organized, spontanous and fullfilled all our wishes. Our guide Sinar, the porters and the tour manager always wanted to make us happy. Hence, we were always Kind of privileged To other people with other guides. We did a Private Tour with our great guide Sinar and two porters who made great food for us. Instead of sleeping on the crater rim we slept in the Camp below. Hence, we didnt have To share the space with hundreds of other tourists and had our own Camp for ourselfs and were able to enjoy a bonfire under a beautyful sky full of Stars. When we arrived on the summit Sinar (guide) had a sleeping bag for us so we didnt Freeze too much. Sinar Was super Handsome and wanted to fullfill us every wish, which he accomplished 100%. Thank you for that! We actually called Sinar the "machine" because He is unbelievably fit on the mountain! Thank you for the great tour, although it is not cheapest. But this is just the market price you have to pay...so we absolutely recommend the Tour with this agency and Sinar as a guide!
I did the 2D1N tour and I liked it very much. For me, the first hike to the base camp was quite easy because I am an experienced hiker. The second hike from the camp to the summit was the difficult part because the terrain becomes very challenging. But with the right attitude, you can definitely make it in time for sunrise. And at the summit, the most beautiful sunrise and the best view awaits you as there are no clouds or mountains in the way. Sinar, my guide, was helpful, very nice and always had motivating words ready. When I had a blister on the way down, he offered me plasters and sandals. He also had snacks, water and instant noodles for the break at base camp. The boss of the company was also very friendly, he explained the whole tour to me at the beginning. He also organised a taxi to pick me up from Kuta and bring me back after the hike. All in all, definitely worth it!
Not an experience i would recommend. We paid a premium of about 350k IDR based on TripAdvisor reviews. The homestay we were staying at had no hot water firstly. They charged us 25k per kilo for laundry which is pretty much the most I've ever paid anywhere in Bali or Lombok. The hike up was tough but our guide was there helping us throughout which was the good part. Once we reached the top, they realised that one of the porters hadn't reached so our food was delayed. Half of the tents weren't closing. In the morning, we woke up to find out hiking sticks missing. The guide and another hiker had taken them to go to the summit and we were super worried how we would go down the mountain slope without them. Finally the guide came back with one and gave us another one, which was flimsy and broke pretty soon. There was no one with us on the climb down and it was a tough climb down with a broken walking stick. They ran out of water halfway down as well. By the time we reached the bottom, one of the hikers hadn't come so we all had to wait an hour. Then the cab guy that dropped us to senggigi kept stopping multiple times on the way to drop off some shoes or pay someone. We were supposed to reach by 6 Max but ended up reaching by 7:30 and i had to take a work call on the road with patchy network. Just super disorganised and not worth the premium.
