There were not a lot to see. The beach overlook temple by the sea was nice. Our driver was very good.

A lovely day with our tour driver Abah, who took us to see the museum, beautiful mosque and a local fishing village. He also recommended a terrific local restaurant for some special Lombok chicken. We were so happy to be away from our usual cruise ship coach tours. Thank you Abah! Highly recommended.

Our driver Wayan was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot from him about Lombok and Indonesia. We were curious among others about local produce and we not only learned a lot, but Wayan kindly kept showing us trees and bushes with our even without fruits that could interest us (many of them are seasonal) - cashews, mangosteens, durians, jack-fruits, all kinds of bananas, cotton trees, tobacco fields, avocados, mangoes and papayas, of course, and that's only the exotic ones. I really enjoyed our unscheduled morning stop at a local food market. During the day we also had two local guides, who were also very informative. Too bad we didn't know in advance we'd need to ford a river a few times on our way to the waterfall, because we only had hiking shoes and left our water shoes in the hotel. During the trip we stopped at a few very nice view points. We had excellent and cheap lunch, upon our request in a local warung. They are always better if you have a local you can ask if you don't know :-) Overall, this was one of the best day trips we had in Indonesia during our vacation. And we had a lot of them, because we like to explore countries on our own, but everybody discouraged us from renting a car, so such trips were the next option.
