Has the potential to be quite good. We opted for the two-hour tour and learned quite a bit about the area. However, we really wanted to learn a few things about Beaujolais wines and wine-making. While we didn't expect this to be a "wine class," per se, we thought there would at least be some commentary on the grapes, local wines, etc. Our guide didn't really know much as compared to other wine tours we've done. Our suggestion is for the guide to do a quick google/wiki search of Beaujolais (region, wines, history), at the least, so that he can speak a bit more confidently about such things. He is personable and clearly wants to do well, so with a bit more prep he could make this quite good. Tour ends with a wine tasting at a good winery. Only French is spoken so make sure you brush up before you go! (Our guide couldn't stay with us to translate because he had another tour to do, but our emerging French was passable enough to learn a few things.) Summary = worth doing, but could be better.
What a wonderful and original tour of the Beaujolais region! The guide was friendly and took our safety to heart! Highly recommend this experience.
We opted for the 2 hour tour and were not disappointed. Our 2 guides gave us a safety lesson and then a short spell on the Segway to get used to handling them, then we were off! Winding through the vineyards on a sunny day was a great experience, amazing scenery and our guides stopped us a couple of times to point out various interesting facts and landmarks about the area. We finished off through the small town and resting up in the local wine cave where we did some winetasting of a local producer and had a plate of nibbles on hand too. Look at their website for photos and videos. Segway/Mobilboard is easy to use and control so I would recommend this to anyone.
We can really recommend Mobilboard Villefranche-Beaujolais. We did a tour in Fleuri the 20th of July, and enjoyed it so much that we came back the following week and did another tour in Oingt!! Both tours were well organized, our guide spoke in English and her husbond in French
