Such an amazing place. We enjoyed visiting Ronda and the local tour guide TripAdvisor booked was fantastic. We had lunch at Don Miguel by the bridge for the amazing view. Pay €2.5 for the museum and head to the back garden. You will thank me later. The Trip Advisor tour we booked was good except we did not like our bus tour guide. She’s knowledgeable and very clear with the schedule, but probably should have kept her casual racist joke out of her presentation. At one point, she said “everyone wears your sticker, because once you get off the bus you are all Chinese to me” then chuckled. I did not hear anyone in the bus laugh. My partner and I looked at each other and shook our heads in disbelief.

Ronda and Setenil de ls Bodegas were wonderful. We loved our local guide in Ronda and enjoyed our free time dining at Don Miguels by the “new bridge”. The tour was done very well and both the primary tour guide and the local tour guide in Ronda were knowledgeable and on point. We particularly liked the local tour guide in Ronda, because she was respectful, funny, and engaging. We don’t particularly like the main tour guide who rode on the bus. Though she was knowledgeable and concise, at times funny, we didn’t appreciate the casual racism injected in one of her jokes, since we are Asians of SE descents. She told everyone to put on their stickers “because once you step off the bus, everyone is Chinese to me” as she giggles. No one on the bus laughed and we just shook our heads surprised a professional tour guide would say such thing in 2024.

The best bits of this trip were the journey to and from Ronda - Janet, who provided the commentary on the coach journey in 3 languages, was very informative and interesting - and the visit to Setenil de las Bodegas. For Ronda we would have preferred to have had the option of no guided tour and of exploring Ronda under our own steam. Some people on the coach (who had presumably booked the day visit via a different tour company) had taken this option but it was not offered via Trip Advisor. Ronda is definitely worth seeing but be warned that even at this time of year it is mobbed with tourists (such as ourselves 😉).

The tour was good. Guide very knowledgeable. The time can be improved though. An hour in Setenil was not enough
