Overview

On this experience, we will pick you from Male airport jetty, Dhangethi island or Dhigurah island and will the South Ari atoll for the No 1 Whale shark snorkeling encounter in the Maldives.

South Ari Atoll is declared as a marine protected area since 2009 and became the largest protected area in the Maldives encompassing 42 km² of coral reef habitat. The area was selected for protection because of its importance as a globally significant aggregation site for the whale shark Rhincodon typus.

During this excursion, we will provide the Snorkeling equipment, Service of experienced crew, underwater photos and videos are included. The crew will carefully seek for these gentle marine giants. More importantly we will ensure to conduct a responsible excursion to ensure that the environment is not disturbed.

After you have enjoyed swimming and snorkeling with them, we will drop you back to where you have started along the life long memories grabbed across the day.

Stop At: Southern Ari Atoll, Southern Ari Atoll

If you are staying in Dhangethi or Dhigurah, the total duration of the Whale shark excursion in South Aril atoll will be 2 hours. Our experienced crew will guide you during this marine encounter and the key highlight of this experience will be snorkeling with Giant Whale sharks.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Velana International Airport, Airport Main Rd, 22000, Maldives

If you are joining from Male airport, please make sure to allow 2 x full days for this excursion. First you will travel by shared speedboat to Dhangethi (11 AM and 4 PM departures are available) and it's required to stay overnight in Dhangethi island. Next day morning, we will have the 2-hour Snorkeling with Whale shark excursion in South Aril atoll and in the afternoon, you will take the shared speedboat back to Male airport (once you finished and came back to Dhangethi).
