Overview

If you love fine wine experience a special private daytour visiting some of the best vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape, including a family-run estate, cultivated for 600 years by descendants of Pope Urbain VIII - world class wines. The village of Châteauneuf du Pape is the heart of a region full of history. A magical place that appears on the hill rising out of a sea of vines. At the summit the ruined château built by the popes in 14th century as a summer residence to escape the city heat of Avignon. The popes planted the town's first vineyards. On arrival visit the first local vineyard and learn about what makes the wines unique before lunch. In the afternoon visit two very different vineyards - first a winemaker with a 8ha vineyard based exclusively on the appellation & a 43ha family estate owned by five generations of wine makers. We introduce you to the iconic Châteauneuf du Pape wines established in 1880's where tradition is enhanced by modernism & excellence, & tasting of course.

Laurent and Chris were fabulous, they were informative, interesting and helpful while being a little fun as well. They arranged and managed a great day for us amongst the town and chateaus that we loved from start to end. We came across the world to see and experience this - so high expectations…. And they exceeded even those.

We had a great day in Châteauneuf du Pape with Chris! It was nice to have everything arranged beforehand and get a second take on the wineries and the history of the region. Lunch was a real treat, and we liked the wine so much we ended up shipping a case home. Overall a great experience, especially if, like us, you only have one day to take in the Châteauneuf region!

So glad I booked this tour! We had an amazing day with Christopher at the wineries of Chateauneuf du Pape. He organized the whole day & gave us a range of different wineries. He was friendly, knowledgeable & was our resident photographer! My husband and I were so pleased. Christopher went above & beyond and helped make recommendations for the rest of our trip. We had a fabulous day with Christopher in Chateaunuef de Pape. We tasted many delightful wines, toured the area and surrounding towns and had a delightful lunch in a neighboring village. We highly recommend Ooh Provence for your next visit. We loved our day!
