Built exclusively for Cannery Row in Monterey, the pirate-themed adventure is part ride and part game, and was inspired by the area’s unique maritime history.

You'll be in the middle of the action as you use interactive devices to collect treasure and ward off fierce skeleton pirates and sea creatures, while traveling through underground caverns in mining carts.

Treasure Hunt: The Ride is a theme park ride built exclusively for Cannery Row in Monterey! It’s a pirate-themed attraction that’s part ride and part game. The immersive attraction is inspired by the area’s unique history and puts you in the middle of a pirate adventure as you use interactive devices to collect treasure and ward off danger!

During the adventure, guests are transported through a “newly discovered” system of caverns located beneath Monterey’s historic Cannery Row. After a 5 minute pre-show, Guests will climb aboard Cavern Cars and work together to battle a pirate skeleton crew, collect lost treasure, and escape from the mighty Kraken.

Treasure Hunt: The Ride is a near 20-minute adventure that features immersive show elements, including projection mapping, water sprays, special effects, cannon blasts, fog, and scents.

Your Unlimited Rides pass gives you unlimited rides at any time on a single day to compete with friends for the highest score.

    The experience itself is 3 stars but I am giving it 4 stars because I am glad that it exists and it is there and available. It is a pretty straightforward shooter dark ride. Theming is pretty good. The elevator ride part felt a bit long. It’s a bit cheesy but we appreciated the worker trying to get into the character. It is not Disney, so lower your expectations. It is expensive but we found coupons in Groupon. It is short. The elevator part felt as long as the ride part. We needed something to do as family and it was fun. There is so much candy shopping a family can do on Cannery Row, so this provided something different to do. (Seriously, there are so many candy / treat shops…)

    Great for kids elementary school age. The employees were super nice, warm and welcoming. The only thing is adults have to accompany little kids in every ride, and our kids could've taken the ride all day, so be prepared and patient, parents!

    This ride and the accompanying shooting galleries are over the top in creativity, craftsmanship, quality and fun. The developers of the ride, Daniels Woodland, from nearby Paso Robles are top-notch developers of animatronics and whimsical sets, forts, playgrounds, and of course, interactive shooting galleries. I was blown away. The story about the Monterey pirates is fun and the ride is exciting, similar to rides at Universal Studios or Busch Gardens.

    This ride is so amazing and so well done that it should be in Disneyland. So many details to see that it’s impossible to see it all in just one ride. The introduction part of the ride “going down to the cave” was a lot of fun also. My daughter and I rode it four times and we could have gone on it more. We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to doing this again soon! I highly recommend Treasure Hunt when you’re in the Monterey area.

    Do not pay for this service. When I got to the ride and showed them the ticket, it was not right. The ticket was not usable for the ride. I has to pay again at the ticket stand for my ride. This is a scam! Don't pay this website!
