The waterfall hike was a one of a kind adventure. On the way to the waterfall, our tour guides Sylvie and Marie told us about the history of Moorea and the plants all around the forest. It was all very interesting and a unique insight into island life. The walk itself can be somewhat challenging in some spots (slippery, it had just rained a lot the day before our hike). Walking sticks are provided to all and are very helpful. The last 20 minutes or so of the hike to the waterfall are a bit of a tease for what’s to come, you can see and hear the water/falls the entire time. The waterfall itself was breathtakingly beautiful. After giving thanks to the gods, we were able to take a swim. The water is much colder than you’d expect! But very, very refreshing. The hike back was much faster than the walk to the waterfall and ended at Yvette’s house where a lovely and delicious spread of fruits and juice from Yvette’s garden were provided. Marie was so helpful in making sure that we were safe and taking the correct steps along the path so we didn’t hurt ourselves. She is clearly an expert on the land around the waterfall, it was fun watching her run around from spot to spot and the joy she exudes from these tours.

The whole experience was amazing, we are a group of 5 with varied agility’s. The guides Silvia and Marie were caring and assisted us whenever we needed. The track was steep at times but we took our time and got to the waterfall lagoon and had a swim, it was gorgeous, refreshing and didn’t want to get out. On return to Marie’s gardens we had a lovely feast of home grown fruits and juice. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone. Thank you for some brilliant memories

The waterfalls are stunning as is the “jungle house”. But the true stars of this excursion are the people, specifically Yvette and Mary. They are both efficient, passionate and compassionate. Yvette expertly leads you to the waterfalls, explaining the history and culture in rich detail. It is obvious she loves Moorea. I had the misfortune of falling on the hike and decided not to go to the falls. (My husband did go on and says it was spectacular!) Mary was called and gently guided me back to the house. She then sat and talked with me for over an hour about her family and island. It was a moving experience. They both are the best ambassadors Moorea could want. We can say, without hesitation, this was the best excursion we have taken in our years of travel. ♥️

Beautiful hike but not easy. Sylvie and her guides were helpful and supportive. Our group consisted of various fitness levels. A few of us were surprised at path elevation. This is a medium level hike not for beginners or anyone that may be afraid of heights and narrow paths. The waterfall and view was worth it! Take bug spray and water. Overall the experience and guides made the hike worth it! Thanks for making my 50th birthday hike amazing! If you are a hiker this is for you. The pickup instructions and communications was top tier.
