My husband and I are on a 7 day trip to Delhi for a wedding and wanted to cram as much into our days as possible. We’ve been on 3 all-day tours and have had amazing guides through different agencies. We had a day of shopping at several markets with Shika. I am not exaggerating when I say Shika is by far my most favorite guide of all time even considering trips outside of India. She was at our hotel 15 minutes early to pick us up for our tour. She had the concierge call us in our room to let us know she was in the lobby but to take our time. It was such a great demonstration of how the little things can have a huge impact. The tour continued in a similar vein. At every moment she was considerate and detailed. The itinerary was flawless and we were able to get everything we wanted plus more. I applaud her patience because we were shopping from 10am-4:30pm. She gives great advice for souvenirs and even helps with clothing sizes. I can’t recommend her services highly enough. India is a service oriented country but I didn’t realize how comprehensive it was until our guided tour with Shika. Next time we’re in Delhi, I NEED to go on a food tour with her. Shika’s lunch and dinner recommendations were killer and I’m sure she has more places in her pocket. Summary: you/I/we need this person when coming to Delhi.

This tour was exciting and relaxing at the same time. Exciting because of the variety of shops and stalls but relaxing because Shika organised every detail of the tour from the first contact to drop off at your hotel. Shika was right on time; we then were chauffered around town in a very comfortable and safe 4wd vehicle. Shika made it possible for me to buy everything on my list, visiting long established vendors with quality merchandise. Along the way we also had a delicious lunch. Foodtourindia provide a reliable, informative, datisfying and fun day out. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!

Superb day. Shika and the driver exceeded all expectations. I arrived a day prior to my group tour, so booked first day with this company. I wish I could have spent a few days with Shika as guide. She’s easygoing and responsive to every request, plus offered an itinerary above and beyond what I pad for. Her communication was excellent, right down to alerting me that the driver would be 15 minutes late due to traffic. Traffic? India? I anticipated the problem, but the call was nice, matching Shika’s clear communication from the time I booked. Shika became my friend in India, and we spent a girls’ day out, shopping and laughing. My energy held up all day despite prievious evening’s arrival from California. Shika is a professional, and although I pushed her to a casual relationship, she’s a pro who would work with family and group tours equally well. I peppered Shika with cultural questions. She took me places few tourists would find. That insider track is the beauty of booking your own tour. I found myself wishing the rest of my trip (group tour) could be with my own local guide.

My guide Shikha was kind, thoughtful and very knowledgeable of the best areas to visit for shopping in Delhi. I was first contacted a few days ahead of the tour to find out what was on my shopping list and any areas I would like to visit, then a plan of where we should go was discussed just before the tour. Shikha made many great suggestions and we visited The Spice Market, Dilli Haat and Janpath market to shop for gifts to take back home and highlighting the many sights of Delhi along the way. We stopped for lunch near Connaught place which is highly recommended and serves the the most delicious Chicken roll - try this place if you can!! It was great being with Shikha for the tour as she took me to the best places, taught me how to bargain with the price, and helped me to get some great deals. I even had time to have a mehndi hand design which was good fun. I really recommend this tour if you like shopping, want to get some great products and are not quite sure where best to go in Delhi. I had a great day, met some great characters and can't praise Shikha enough for being such a lovely guide for my Delhi shopping trip.
