We start our tour at Hawkes Shaft, a short walk through mining country to see the disused mines of Mid Cornwall.

On to the historic open-air amphitheater at Gwennap Pit. Once a natural basin and used for mining it became one of the most important sites in the history of Methodism.

In United Downs we take a short walk along the cycle route to visit one of the united mines here in Cornwall.

Afterwards, we’ll head to Kennal Vale and the old Gunpowder Works with stories of explosions being heard as far away as Falmouth.

Next, we’ll take you to Stithians Lake, a man made lake covering 300 acres that was once farming land. Visiting the lovely Wild Vibes Café for morning coffee.

Our last stop is Devoran, a village known for its rich industrial history, scenic beauty, and diverse wildlife. The village was once a thriving centre of the Cornish mining industry, with copper and tin mining taking place in the area from the 16th to the 19th century.

We take a short walk to see where the Kennal River becomes tidal and runs along side the Carnon River both filtering into Restrongeuet Creek at the same point and the man made island from Carnon mine.
