Overview

Noosa Learn to Surf offers specifically structured lessons to suit the absolute beginner through to competition surfers. Our specific 1-2-3 teaching method is unique worldwide and guarantees you'll be standing in your first lesson. We offer daily tuition, small group classes.

Group lessons run daily at 9am and 1.30pm for 2 hours duration. We operate 364 days per year excluding Xmas Day. Our surfing lessons can also be conducted in French if need be. All equipment included in the price.

Please note: Minimum age: 7 years, must be able to swim 25 meters unassisted.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

Meet and greet your surf coaches, we assign you a board and rashvest. A short stroll down the path to the beach where we start your 2 hour surf lesson.

Anthony was a great teacher - giving specific, encouraging advice and making sure we caught the waves that were the right size for our skill level. The location was lovely and the water warm. It would have been great to get some action photos. All in all, a fun experience!

Best surf lesson I’ve ever taken. Really fun and knowledgeable guys. Wonderful instructor with really great tips. Highly recommend. Even fun in the rain!

A wonderful few hours spent at Merrick’s surf school! It was my first time surfing & something that was on my bucket list of things to try whilst visiting Australia. Oakie (sorry if mis-spelt!), could sense I was a little apprehensive & looked after me so well, giving lots of encouragement & had heaps of patience! Thanks so much for making it all such a great experience :-) Would highly recommend Merricks to anyone wanting to try surfing.

Provided with everything and really nice staff. We were in a group of 4 and I think with anymore people it would have been very crowded - not sure if they would give you two instructors. The issue was is that I was very bad at surfing (not the company’s fault). I understand that I can’t be given more attention than the other people in the group but I was floating in a different part of the sea trying to get to the group for at least 10 minutes, and no one came to help me. I found it very difficult to battle the waves and could have done with a little assistance or just advice before I went in on how to do it as I had never surfed before. Ended up with me getting quite badly hit in the face by the board and really struggling. I sat out on the second half of the lesson. Lovely staff and a nice surf school I just think there could have been a little more assistance when I was struggling so much.

Today was our third time doing a group lesson for the kids 9 and 10 years and myself. Merrick, Carol and Eligh were wonderful with the kids, so much help and feedback on every wave. Feels like we’ve all learned a lot just in our three sessions. Highly recommend.
