Stop At: Coromandel Coastal Walkway, Stony Bay Road, Coromandel New Zealand
We meet you at our Colville depot where you join the shuttle. Enjoy a personable commentary along the way as your experienced driver points out the sights and scenery along the way.
Your Coastal Walkway hike starts at Fletcher Bay and travels through regenerating native bush on a pathway once used by early Maori and European Settlers. Descend to the depths of Poley Bay with its stark, craggy rock formations.
Walk on to the Lookout, sit and savour the seaviews across the Colville Channel to Great Barrier Island. Return to Fletcher Bay via the same route in reverse where you will be met with a delicious afternoon tea before the bike leg of the journey.
The full return hike totals ten kilometers and suits those with moderate fitness. If on the day you prefer to take on something less strenuous, your driver will advise you on the best options for turnaround points. The Walkway is well signposted and we provide pocket maps to ensure this self guided hike is enjoying for all.
Duration: 5 hours 30 minutes
Stop At: Coromandel Peninsula, Coromandel Peninsula, Waikato Region, North Island
Bike the Coast Road back to Colville beside the beautiful Hauraki Gulf. This ride is truly unique and a great way to round off the day.
Riding up to 36kms back to Colville over a quiet gravel road is a great way to spend more time in our backyard.
We will ensure you are comfortable with handling the ebike before you depart. All safety equipment is provided including a helmet, pannier and hi visibility vest plus maps and directions. All you need to bring is comfortable biking gear and the necessary confidence to cycle over a quiet, back country, gravel road. We are never far away to keep an eye out for you.
The route travels under giant Puriri and Pohutukawa trees as it winds its way to the coast. There are a couple of hill climbs but the bikes handle these with ebike ease. Once you reach the coastline you can pause for photo opportunities as you gaze out across the ocean. Dolphins are known to frolic close to the shore and on the odd occasions the orca are never far away.
