We rented bikes and cycled 70 miles over 2 days whilst in Porto. The rental is straightforward, and the guys are friendly and helpful. I think this is the first place ever that I've experienced rental charges based upon how long you are out for. Both days we were out for 6 hours approx, so you get charged for that, rather than a 1 day rental. Brilliant 👏. This meant 10 euros per bike, each day. Love it 😀. The bikes are not high spec, but good enough for what we wanted. Definitely recommend.
Lovely cycle.up the Duoro then the coast to city park, so nice to be in nature in the city. The bike was in good condition, qn easy rode with gears and well prepared for me.
The bike was in great condition and the guy at the shop gave me a wonderful recommendation for lunch in Foz.
If you want to rent a two-wheeled vehicle while in Porto, rent from Nothroad! In early May my wife and I, who are from San Francisco, rented two e-bikes from Northroad to do a 4 day trek from Chavez to Viana de Castelo. I set it up with the owner, Tiago, online a few months prior to our visit. We picked the bikes up in Porto, Tiago and Francisco got us outfitted with Panyers, extra tubes, chargers, locks, a pump and a tool kit. Tiago was very accommoding and made sure we had everything, a very gracious gentleman.Then, Francisco drove us to the beginning of our ride, to Chaves in the Northroads van with our bikes and gear while we stored our luggage with them. The bikes were nearly new and terrific equipment! Francisco was wonderfully welcoming and shared with us all kinds of great information about Portugal and its culture and his life here. We feel like he is our good friend. Our trip was beautiful, we worked with a totally unrelated Portuguese man planning our route and we booked our own overnight stays. We rode over 250km and saw some rural sights that were one-of kind and very beautiful throughout the 4 days. Upon our return we were helped by Francisco again and his colleague, Diogo, both terrific. Then, another of Northroad's staff, a gentleman named Miguel, spent a good half hour with me giving me all kinds of terrific tips on the Douro Valley. We are renting a car to go there, so this next phase of our trip is totally unrelated to Northroad. MIguel was so friendly and gave us the inside scoop on many details of the Douro Valley. We decided on the spur of the moment to rent bikes for a ride to the beach. This store was closest to our hotel but we really lucked out with Miguel, the owner. He was very friendly and helpful, even advising us to take a day trip to Pinhao in the Douro Valley which ended up to be one of our favorite parts of the trip. We very strongly recommend this business!
