Overview

The Douro Valley, World heritage and one of the oldest wine producing regions in the world, has unique landscapes and delicious treats ready to amaze you.

This region is home of the famous Douro Wine, specifically the Port wine.

As soon as we arrive we will sample the amazing treats that the valley has to offer: almonds, its traditional bread and its delicious honey, all paired with Douro´s red, white and rosé wines.

Then, we will head to the Pinhão train station, where you can see the history of Douro's wine industry in typical blue&white portuguese tiles. You can also go for an optional boat ride.

After, we will visit a family-owned winery with access to an exclusive lunch menu with all included and paired with White, Red and Port Wines. After lunch you will have a Port Wine tasting in which you will sample several different years.

Before arriving in Porto, we will visit Amarante, for a final tasting of its treats.

Our first stop in Régua is to enjoy a quick coffee while taking in the breathtaking landscapes. We'll have the chance to capture beautiful pictures, create lasting memories, and cross a charming 19th-century walking bridge. Get ready for an unforgettable experience in this picturesque region!

Stop At: Casal de Loivos, Casal de Loivos, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal

Experience the ultimate combination of beauty and flavor with our Museum & Familiar Cellar Visit. Marvel at the breathtaking view of the Douro River while indulging in tastings of white, rosé, and red wines. Discover regional olive oil, almonds, bread, and other delectable products. Immerse yourself in the history and culture of the Douro Valley. Unforgettable moments await you, as you learn about the winemaking process and the traditional techniques behind the production of these exceptional wines.

Stop At: Pinhao, Pinhao, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal

Enjoy this traditional cruise on board of the typical Rabelo Boat (Optional). Or if you prefer, enjoy a very nice and relaxing walk through Pinhão riverside.

Stop At: Sabrosa, Sabrosa, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal

Enjoy this very traditional lunch at a familiar Wine producer Vintage House in Sabrosa, the hometown of Ferdinand Magellan. Indulge in delicious cuisine while admiring the XVIII century manor and picturesque winery views. Conclude your meal with a guided visit to their remarkable wine cellar.

Stop At: The Douro Valley, Pinhao 5085-060 Portugal

Enjoy some secret and unbelievable landscape views as we explore in a comfortable minivan, perfect for capturing memorable pictures.

Stop At: Amarante, Amarante, Porto District, Northern Portugal

Explore Amarante, a romantic Portuguese village nestled in the countryside. Wander through its enchanting streets, admire the XVIII-century bridge, and discover the magnificence of the XVII-century monastery. Indulge in a delightful wine tasting, savoring amazing cheese, charcuterie, and the exquisite pairing of white and red Verde wines, creating an unforgettable experience for your senses.

Our tour was wonderful our guide Tiago was excellent. He was knowledgeable of the total production of the various wines of the region. He also provided Portuguese historical background which all of the guests appreciated. The wines were very good as well as food. The local vintners gave informative presentations and answered questions.

Alex from Touch Tours picked us up from the Porto airport and toured us around the Douro Valley. We made a stop at a tavern to taste the green wine with a meat and cheese plate. Fun experience. Great local crowd. Then we drove and stopped at a winery where we had lunch and a tour of the wine cellar. Good food, good wine, good view! Everyone at this winery was so personable. Alex then had us take the Douro Boat ride which provided us with beautiful views of the tiered vineyards. Our next stop was at a winery overlooking the Douro River. At each stop Alex made sure we were doing well but left us alone to enjoy on our own. While in the car driving, Alex provided good commentary about our sights and the region. He was respectful, spoke excellent English and the car was comfortable. As planned we were dropped at our hotel. Thank you Alex for a perfect 1st day in Porto.

Tiago did a thorough job of explaining history and culture of the areas we visited. Tiago was able to bring everyone together for a shared experience, even with different languages spoken. I took the tour to visit the Douro Valley and learn about its agriculture. That said, this trip was much more. We all shared plenty of laughter and memories to treasure.
