Open since its discovery in 1881, Capricorn Caves has shared its magic and splendour with people for well over 100 years. And it has never been as grand as it is right now. The Augusteyn family purchased the caves in 1988 and set out on a visionary path to sustainably transform the place into a leading attraction for tourism and education.

Today, visitors choose from a range of exciting and immersive experiences including daily wheelchair-accessible guided cave tours, wild caving adventures, abseiling, high ropes courses and team building initiatives. New environment-themed tours incorporate Queensland Museum’s palaeontology dig site and marine fossil caves; a “Behind the scenes” tour specifically caters to students and tourism operators.

Sit down and have something to eat or drink from our café, while you take in the peaceful atmosphere of our bush surrounds.

This tour was wonderful. Easy walk, the Caves amazing, but the Cathedral was the highlight. Acoustics in that cave room amazing. Hudson (who was our guide), was full of information, and a pleasure to do our tour with, a very pleasant lady. Thank you Hudson.

We left Yeppoon early in the morning and arrived at the caves before opening so were on the first tour. We were guided by Candice who was following in her mother's footsteps as a guide. It was a spectacular journey through the different parts of the cave learning the wildlife, geology and fauna found in the caves. The cathedral was awesome and we were treated to a song from one of the girls in another family on our tour. She was amazing and the acoustics were fantastic. Very easy walk on this tour with lots of stops to admire the scenery. There is a small cafe area to enjoy and coffee and cake after your tour. We worth the cost.

We were looking for a stop over for a night on our way up to Airlie beach. This was well worth the stop, had a great tour with Hudson. Very passionate and funny tour guide. Would highly recommend. The kids that were on our tour had a great time.

This tour was awesome! Worth the trip from Yeppoon. Drew was a brilliant guide and was loaded with lots of information. The total blackness of the cake was absolutely brilliant. I would have been super happy to stay there for a lot longer! Thanks for the brilliant experience!
